Yup I couldn't afford gargoyles too but decided to get rid of all my loose and sealed marvel legends and mcfarlane dc figs so now  I can collect gargoyles. I've sold on ebay for 20 years and of all the lines I sell, marvel legends and mcfarlane dc multiverse is the hardest to move/sell. Great figs but if one decides to sell it'll be tough...Biggest regret in my collection.

What do you mean by hardest to sell? Ive never had a single problem selling any of my legends and i sold the old craptastic toybiz versions and they moved almost instantly. Also its much easier selling in lots than selling single but Ive had pretty good success selling singles too. Ive been selling for the last 10 years or so. Id be sad if I sold some of my favorites tho.

I have tons of old toybiz marvel figures and playmate star trek toys I've been thinking of selling. Is ebay the best place for that? Did you think its better to sell individuals or whole lots?

Honestly ebay sucks. They take a chunk of your 'profit' and buyers seem to get away with murder and sellers are screwed over. Ive been screwed over a few times but sometimes ebay is the only way to go.

Selling individual to lots depends on what you want out of it all. Selling in lots allows you to push stuff out without worrying about a profit as well as easier with shipping since its typically just a big box or two. Also easier to push a lot when you have higher ticket items that people want and will insist on you selling separately instead. Selling individual is a bit harder as some are just stinkers that no one wants unless you get low balled. You have to individually ship them so you have to manage the boxes and shipping prices depending on each figure by themselves.

Ebay is a great way to gauge price values of each figure tho and if its a very high ticket item that will get you a decent chunk, i suggest separate. Altho again dependent on what you want because that higher ticket item can help push your lot but you may not get the price you want if you do it in an auction. I typically do it with a set price anymore and let it sit until I get a bite. Ive found that setting a reasonable price after gauging what figures are going for on ebay (by checking COMPLETED auctions, not auctions with delusional pricing that will never sell). So green prices in the completed search feature. Also you can join some facebook figure groups specifically for say marvel legends or just figures in general and make a sale listing on there. Ive seen people sell individually on there and get the prices they want or can negotiate with members for a reasonable price. The problem with that is there can be some scammers in them and you are working individually with people instead of letting ebay be the middle man. I would suggest doing Paypal Goods and Services so that if they do scam you, you are both protected. Its alot more work but you get more money doing it.

My personal experience, Toybiz stuff, depending on the character and rarity are alittle harder to sell individually due to Hasbro updating the characters and being on the market at msrp. Thats not to say that toybiz figures dont sell but it was easier for me selling most in lots. Altho I sold my xmen classics iceman bobby drake chase variant in box years ago for I think $160, but that is a super rare figure. When I got it, it was rare even then so I was nervous to ever open it and never did (which is rare for me to do). When I was selling them, most of hasbros updates to them werent out yet. Oh yeah and ebay also can cover shipping the items overseas. They have a program that allows you to sell to people overseas and you just ship it to their facility and they ship to the location. So that allows for more eyes on what you are selling.
