It's been a bumpy road for Hasbro's 6" G.I. Joe Classified line so far, and even though the Snake-Eyes movie didn't seem to do to well at the box office, the future is still looking fairly bright for the 6" action figure line from Hasbro. 2021 mostly saw re-issues and Target store exclusives. Fortunately here in recent months Hasbro and Target have seemingly been making the figures more readily available for people to get their hands on them, which is good. I don't expect a whole lot more for new figures to be released in 2021, but 2022 is looking to be a bigger year for the line. Right now it's looking like there will be somewhere in the neighborhood of at least 11-12 regular released figures. Target currently has 13 unannounced figures listed in their system, two of which appear to be store exclusives. We only have code names right now so we can't say what exact figures are coming yet, but the numbers overall are positive. You can see a list of the code names as well as screenshots from the Target system of them below.

Jupiter
Scorpio
Zenith
Meteor
Betelgeuse
Rigel
Europa
Centauri
Gamma
Diamondback
Apollo

Right now all these code names are using the same DPCI# as other regular releases. I have also checked with other sources who have told me that have seen listings for at least 12 different figures being offered by Hasbro for 2022. This leads me to believe these will in fact be regular release figures and not Target exclusives.

Again, since Hasbro is using code names we can't really say what figures these will actually be. We know from past listings the Jupiter code name has been used for Storm Shadow figures, so I am assuming that is one coming next year. I should note besides the Jupiter listing there is also a listing for the movie Storm Shadow figure slated for release in October. Because of the two listings, that leads me to believe Jupiter is for a non-movie version of the Cobra Ninja.

We have also seen the Zenith code name used previously for the 3 3/4 Retro Stalker figure, so that one might be for a new 6" version. Hasbro does sometimes switch code names around to throw people off, so we shouldn't treat these code name interpretations with 100% certainty.

Finally we have 2 additional listings in the Target system for the following:

CS Solar Flare DPCI# 087-16-7997
CS Solar Eclipse DPCI# 087-16-7719

The fact these two figures have unique DPCI#'s almost guarantees these will be Cobra Island Target exclusive figures. There has been a ton of speculation out there for what these might be, but I think we will just have to wait and see.

Now while I am optimistic that 2022 will be a good year for G.I. Joe Classified, I should note these listings could easily change at any time. Things could be canceled or what-have-you. It's also possible the 13 figures listed here are just the tip of the iceberg. Either way you can be rest assured as more details on all this become available, we will be sure to let you know.

I’m excited to see who all will be in this line up and glad the majority aren’t exclusive.  Hopefully there’s general better distribution and stocking of the figures going forward.

I hope Jupiter is Storm Shadow. I'm also hoping one of these is a Crimson Guardsman and that it's not one of the exclusives. I need like six of the bastards.

definitely hope the first 11 mentioned codenames are indeed normal releases, but we'll eventually know, i definitely agree G.I. Joe's new line is doing well in a way, i admit i only managed to snagged Snake Eyes and Scarlett (both original first releases), but i really can't wait to get some lilttle more possible Joes and Cobra members in my local stores since just like the states they're hard to find.

and heck even i still hope to get Pegwarmer Commander as well lol, since who knows if they are even Lady Jayes or Flints in the stores i go, they probably are or aren't, i dunno.

I don't think we'll ever see a "BIG" year for G.I. Joe ever again.  G.I. Joe was "BIG" in the '80s and when it returned in the '90s and early 2000 but Hasbro decided to shut the product down.  Fast Forward and a few bad movies later didn't help its reputation and the toys but even now Hasbro is trying to push the product again.  I'll give them credit when it comes to bringing back the dead...  The problem with G.I. Joe is i's not going to fare well in today's market with both the inflation of prices and with kids.  Kids today are not 80 or 90 generation kids.  Kids today don't play with action figures like most of us did.  They want toys they can play with on a phone or on a Nintendo Switch.  But not to get off the subject... Hasbro can try and sell G.I. Joes and collectors will "TRY" to collect the merchandise but when it comes down to every piece Hasbro releases, they try and market it as it has to be an exclusive of a "one of a kind and you have to have it" piece.  Hasbro wants to make everything a Target or Walmart exclusive or try to throw it on HasbroPulse to make it super-exclusive and have it sold out before it goes on sale even if you pay the extra fee to be one of the first in line to get it.  The toys cost enough and they want me to pay even more just to see I can't even buy them from them?  You ask me if 2022 will be a "BIG" year for G.I. Joe?  Yes, we'll see additional toys for G.I. Joe and the only thing that will be "BIG" is the prices on eBay from Scalpers.  But that's another post...

Bottom line... Stop making everything has a exclusive and put it into all markets.  Walmart, Target and on-line stores.  Make the merchandise available to everyone to be able to buy because only collectors will go out of their way to get exclusives when normal parents buying their kids a toy will move on to the next product that is available.

I would be extremely happy with that selection.

I'm hoping Cover Girl has multiple hair lengths and colors (from her many different animated, toy, and comic looks) -long blonde, short auburn, and long red would be great. After all, she was a model...

My wishlist after these would be Zandar, Zarana, Thrasher, Jinx, Falcon, Dr. Mindbender, Quick Kick, Spirit, Bazooka, Alpine, Hawk...maybe Serpentor.

And honestly, I'd like to have a more "classic" looking Scarlett as well. I mean, we have 4 versions of Roadblock (3 different ones and a repaint).

You got the key to the codenames?

Not at all. Just making a guess. I think we already heard Cover Girl is coming. There may also have been a teaser about some Dreadnoks, and those are the obvious first choices,

All these code names doesn't cut it for me at all... Let's just wait till the figures come out or at least Hasbro release news about them in their News videos...

Ha. Ok. Just checking. Seem like good guesses.

Yes I did, but time will tell if it is true they are regular releases indeed or more Cobra Island, experience tells me that there will not be much difference between what we have seen and what we will possibly see next year although it doesn't matter, I never find anything related to the line in stores near me or online, it doesn't matter if it's exclusive or regular release, the line is being handled wobbly and aimlessly.

Sadly, with the under performance of Snake-Chi (Shang-Eyes?) in theaters it doesn't seem as if that's gonna change any time soon.

Distribution, retailer push-back, consumer ill will: I think Hasbro could do away with at least 90% of their problems if they just remembered they are a toy company.

Last week we told you how 2022 was shaping up to be a pretty good year for Hasbro's 6" G.I. Joe Classified line. While we didn't have specific figure names we could see there was something like 11-12 regular release figures as well as several Target exclusives with listings that had popped up in the Target system. Listing using code names of course.

Well now it seems the folks at WOJM have received info (likely from some type of retail distributor) to help us decipher what exactly some of those figures will be.

According to them this is how the first part of the year going into the summer will break down. Keep in mind the exact looks these figures will feature is unknown and the images below are for reference purposes only.

January 2022
-Deluxe Croc Master with crocodile

February 2022
-Storm Shadow
-Spirit With Freedom
-Cobra Officer

April 2022
-Tomax
-Xamot
-Stalker

June 2022
-Crimson Guard
-Zarana
-Dusty

-Cobra Viper And Viper Officer 2-pack

July 2022
Unknown crossover type figure similar to Fortnite Snake-Eyes

Target exclusives will now be themed Tiger Force vs Python Patrol.

June 2022 Target Exclusives
-Outback
-Python Viper
-Python B.A.T.

While we have not yet been able to independently verify all of these figures ourselves, some of these do match up with listings we have seen from other places. Of course these are all subject to change between now and next year and should be considered as RUMOR until Hasbro officially confirms them.

I can't help but be skeptical, but I also really want this to be at least mostly accurate. A regular Storm Shadow was always a given, and I need him along with Dusty and a whole squad of Crimson Guard. If they're not Target exclusives (or exclusive at all), all the better. I also can't help but question a bit that Target exclusives will soon be Tiger Force and Python Patrol, because that makes too much sense and would mean that both Target and Hasbro have actually learned something over the last year or so.

The one thing I noticed though is that there mostly Cobras.

Also one of the things that has me a bit skeptical.

I'll admit it's a good list but I broke the list up into what I believe Hasbro will say they are going to release and what they will actually release.

First, the list of figures that will be get release:

Storm Shadow
Cobra Officer
Stalker
Dusty
Cobra Viper And Viper Officer 2-pack
Python Viper
Python B.A.T.

This list includes typical figures we have seen before such as Storm Shadow, Cobra Officer, Stalker and Cobra Viper And Viper Officer.  These are figures that have been released many times over and are collection builders, except for the Stalker and Dusty and those would be limited release.

The remaining figures on the list that have a very small chance of being made:

Deluxe Croc Master with crocodile
Spirit With Freedom
Tomax
Xamot
Zarana
Crimson Guard
Outback

These figures are figures that Hasbro never cared much about or pushed on the market.  The only time we saw these figures was when we had a G.I. Joe Collectors Club and those were the 3 3/4" or some other assortment or exclusive.

Bottom line... I'll believe this list when I see the figures in stores or online for purchase.

The speculated list looks pretty decent, but a ton of Cobras (not a bad thing to me), makes me wonder... Croc Master! I damn hope that's a must have for me, also of course we are going to get a regular Storm Shadow that's a given, Crimson Guard is also a must have, Zarana and Dusty as well, Python B.A.T. and Python Viper as exclusives..ugh. anyways I'd be surprised if we didn't get a Covergirl next year also would bet on Flash, Grunt & Rock N Roll, Scrap Iron and Snow Serpent. just sayin....

ah well we don't actually no for sure,
