Super7 has announced a new clear red variant of the Super Cyborg Megazord is making its debut at Wonder Festival in Shanghai this weekend (booth E4-A17), and will be a special summer exclusive later this summer.

Is this red design a reference to something I'm not familiar with or just a variant for the sake of it?

I;m pretty sure it's just a variant for sake of it. I don't recall anything like this in the show, I remember the other variant they had of this which was clear which was most certainly for the sake of it, so this must be too.

Looks pretty damn awesome though, I wouldn't buy it at regular price, but if for some reason it was on clearance I would not say no.

Yeah these are neat, but I've already got the soc megazord and don't have room for another, haha.
