Playmates Toys TMNT Turtle Party Wagon (Mutant Attack Van) Re-Issue

The original 1989 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon vehicle from Playmates Toys has been re-issued a number of times over the years, and it looks like its about to get another re-release in 2021.

The re-issued vehicle has been listed for pre-order at the Australian retailer Popcultcha

The packaging for this one looks to be almost identical to the packaging used on the 25th Anniversary edition that was released in 2009. The packaging on that one differed a bit from the original 1989 version and the more recent 2013 version. As far as this most recent one, it looks like on the front of the packaging the 25th Anniversary logo has been removed and the Warning label is a little different. On the back, again the 25th Anniversary logo has been removed and the Nickelodeon logo has been added. Otherwise it looks to be the exact same item as the one from 2009. No word yet on when or how this one will be released in the US.

I'd say that's cool, I mean for all of the people who continue to want these re-releases of the classic product, I just see it as more pitiful attempts at not using any new tools, and just hucking old dingey basement dust at people, but on the other hand it's great for those who want this and don't want to pay the price for the vintage item, but they could try something new, seems like every few years though they just get back on track to release the same items, re-release cool stuff like Scratch, Hot Spot or Halfcourt, things people really could use. or how about more stuff for the 6'' articulated lines from Playmates.

Oh, if they would only make one of these for their 6" figures.

Actually, I wouldn't buy that either. I've still got Cowabunga Carl's Party Wagon from the TMNT movie.

They will but the price is not going to be very well accepted by everyone...

I'm pretty sure Neca is planning one, but I SERIOUSLY doubt we'll see anything like that from Playmates again.

. . . unless of course, the next Nick-based kiddie line is done in the 1/12th scale ala the CGI movie (which would be AWESOME).
