Retro FANG - Some pics and opinions

I gave in and ordered two of these. I was hesitant at first considering it is a new mold and there was a chance it would turn out being really bad but I went ahead and ordered two of them. I mean this is a version of the first Cobra air vehicle.

Some complaints.

The pilot. It might just be me but the pilot looks like his feet are a bit too big. Not clown shoe big but just looked slightly off to me. His elbow joints are stuck and look like some of the plastic on the joint is sticking out too much maybe blocking the arm from moving. I have not tried heating the joints and moving them so that might be nothing. His helmet falls off very easily and is a bit lopsided. It just looks like the helmet was molded uneven. He looks alright without it and some putty in it will fix that.

The FANG. It is all new. The bomb and missiles are too. The bomb fits nicely on the bottom. The rockets though do not stay attached all that well to the skids. The skids are very soft and pliable and I was afraid that I would break them off if I tried pushing the rockets on too hard. The pilot was a little rough getting him into the seat. Even though this is a new mold for the slightly bigger figures compared to the vintage Joes he still felt too big for the seat. I got him in eventually but it would have been nice if he fit a bit better.

Overall I am happy with it. I'm not going to play with it or get rough with it so it should be fine. Looks cool displayed. I like that the FANG has an actual pilot just for it instead of throwing regular Troops in it. I think it is an improvement over the original toy and I am glad I got two of them. I have not tried putting any decals on these new releases but I plan to put some on at least one of these FANGs and see how that goes.
