Power Rangers Lightning Collection MMPR KING SPHINX Monsters Review

I have been hoping for a King Sphinx figure since this line started, and I initially was really happy with this figure, but I realized quickly how much of a pathetic job they actually did with this figure in terms of paint on his face, didn't want to paint the nose? , didn't paint the inside of his mouth???? , this is lackluster work at it's finest, it's like they just released a almost finished prototype, continued proof Hasbro's power ranger team has no care or idea about what they are releasing. I can see that the box art shows his face has the right paint? how hard would it have been to do on the actual figure? if some one said..this was a bootleg of the real figure I'd not question them.

This is a QC issue at the factory most likely ala the Walgreens exclusive white ranger with the pointy helmet issue. In that case they replaced the head for free, and in that fig's case it was missing most if not all of the black paint which was shown on both the illustration on the front of the box and the rendering on the back of it. If you look at the illustration on the front and rendering on the back of this new figure it is obvious that the missing black paint is supposed to be there (nose, inside of mouth, and around the eyes). With that said, then I think they need to either offer up a replacement head like the other figure or at least do a running change on future figures and we simply rebuy it and return the older figure, so you aren't paying for it twice. The same could be said for the pumpkin monster, as well although he's not as egregious. He does need some paint inside the mouth and in the eyes I think. He at least has the wash all over the head. Sphinx does have the black smudges on his cheeks, but obviously something got missed on the QC side or it's a factory error. The fact that the box art both have the black as you'd expect tells me it's an oversight. Now, it's up to them to offer up the free head replacement. There's a precedent for it, so we can hope it happens soon.

I don't think this is the case here.  The artwork on the front does not represent the figure, just the character.  The 3D renders on the back of the packages tend to have a lot more paint detail than the figures anyway, so this is nothing new.
