According to Deadline, Steve Agee will be reprising one of his Suicide Squad roles for the HBO Max spinoff series Peacemaker starring John Cena.

Agee will be appearing in James Gunn’s upcoming The Suicide Squad movie under the role of John Economos. The character is a warden of Belle Reve Federal Penitentiary and an aide to Viola Davis’ government character Amanda Waller.  Agee also is playing King Shark in Suicide Squad.

Gunn is writing the eight-episode series, while directing a handful of the episodes.  Gunn and The Suicide Squad producer Peter Safran are serving as executive producers with Cena serving as co-executive producer.  The series will be produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and the Safran Company in association with Warner Bros Television.

The Peacemaker was created by Joe Gill and Pat Boyette and first appeared in the Fightin’ 5 series originally owned by Charlton Comics. The first incarnation of Peacemaker was Christopher Smith, a pacifist diplomat and son of a Nazi death camp commandant who founded the Pax Institute, which fights dictators and warlords.

The Suicide Squad is scheduled to premiere in theaters August 6th.

I don't think we've ever gotten spin off tv show before Movie release, this does seems really premature  but I guess Warners think they have super smash hit on their hands with Gunn's Suicide Squad and especially when it comes to John Cena character, or maybe HBOMax needed new content so much that Peacemaker show ended up being only realistic and viable option they could think of.

Cool, I guess, I still feel they are putting too much faith on this movie that God knows when it will see release or how well it will do.

Just a few more great moves from HBO Max and I'll subscribe and stay subscribed even after the Schneider's JL. Will they keep John Cena as their series' "Peacemaker"? Will Ben Affleck really take on his own tv series as the Batman in HBO Max? I hope DC consolidates all their new and old series, movies and animation in HBO Max... then they got me paying :) their monthly
