'John Wick' Writer Derek Kolstad Set To Develop 'Splinter Cell' Anime Series For Netflix

Recommended Posts

Variety is reporting that 'John Wick' film franchise writer Derek Kolstad has been picked up by Netflix and Ubisoft to serve as writer and executive producer for an anime series adaptation of the video game “Splinter Cell”.  Sources are reporting that the series has received a two-season, 16 episode order at the streaming service.

The first “Splinter Cell” video game was released in 2002 to large numbers in sales which has lead to spawning six sequels as well as a series of novels.  The game follows former U.S. Navy SEAL Sam Fisher after he is recruited by the NSA to work for the mysterious Third Echelon division within the agency. The game sees Fisher engage in number of black ops missions, employing stealth and military tactics.

Kolstad has worked on all three 'John Wick' films and co-created the Quibi series 'Die Hart' starring Kevin Hart and John Travolta.  He has worked on 'Falcon and Winter Soldier' series at Disney Plus.
