Warner Bros. Pushes 'Wonder Woman 1984' To October For 'Tenet' Release Shift

Recommended Posts

Wonder Woman 1984 star Gal Gadot announced via Twitter that the Wonder Woman sequel has a new premiere date of October 2nd, 2020.

Warner Bros. decided to make the move to allow Christopher Nolan’s Tenet to get pushed back from July 17th to July 31st.  The studio is anticipating Tenet to be a big movie event as it will be shown in movie theaters that are finally opening due to the COVID-19 shutdown.  July 31st also makes it the 10th anniversary release of Nolan’s Inception.

Should have released the movie last year...

Even Jenkins herself said as much.

On the other hand, I do love the fact they think Nolan's movie is gonna be a hit just because theaters will be reopening and patrons will be so desperate to see anything, they'll even see that. What do the ladies say? "If not Mr. Right, then Mr. Right Now."

Honestly, it sounds like Nolan knows he has a tanker on his hands and leveraged some of his name recognition for the new sweet-spot.
