Variety has reported that Paramount Pictures has started development on a Sonic the Hedgehog sequel.

The sequel would bring back Jeff Fowler directing, and Pat Casey and Josh Miller writing the script.  Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Toru Nakahara will be producing, while Hajime Satomi, Haruki Satomi and Tim Miller are executive producing.

No information regarding the casting or production start date as the movie is still in the beginning development stages.

The first film was released in February of 2020 and scored the No. 1 opening weekend of all time for a movie based on a video game, and boasted the fourth-best Presidents Day weekend debut.

I was quite surprised with he first one. It's definitely family friendly as it should be, but I was entertained.
