At first I was all yes, then I was all No, then was again Yes and sad I didn't back this, now I am back to No, this looks like it's just a few notches above statue status like the old McFarlane figs, old Todd back to his crafty tricks again, still playing the same game, sure the cape is highly articulated but it's cumbersome plastic, sure he is giving the people tons of accessories and gimmicky doo-dads but..he looks nothing like the most ultimate posable spawn figure ever. The MK11 Spawn is looking way more awesome then this, and I am happy with that.

Todd McFarlane has released this image showing us an early production sample for his Kickstarter Spawn figure. Once he signs off on this, the factory will begin production of the figure.

It's been a while since I was so mesmerized by action figure promo pic, this is best Spawn figure for sure at least if we judge by prototype, I don't think actual thing will be much different considering price and it being kickstarter and not retail figure.

Definitely that cape will kill the posability of the figure, I wonder why he didn't go with a soft goods cape with bendy wire instead.

yea if it was cloth I wouldn't have pledged for the figures. in fact I almost dropped my pledge when he gave them real chains. but awesome that you pledged too. hopefully figures will be great

The figure still look more statue with some articulation than action figure to me, cool accessories though.

I'm curious as to the articulation of this Spawn too. Hope it has almost the same articulation as the first (Mortal K) release, and then you just have to put on the cape (easily). Weird as it may sound, but I like the MK version still... not into humongous capes.

I haven't seen the MK one in person but from what I have seen in photos and video reviews I like the look of it more than this one.

In celebration of being a Todd McFarlane's Spawn Kickstarter figure being a 2021 Toy of The Year Finalist, they have released some new images for the figure. See the official press release and images below. Also look for Todd to release an updated video for the Spawn figure which I believe will come later today. We will be sure to update you all here on that if it does:

SPAWN has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2021 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Award, the toy industry's highest achievement and one of its most revered accolades. The Toy Association (TIA) has selected The Original SPAWN Action Figure and Comic Remastered (2020) as a finalist in the Action Figure of the Year category. SPAWN fans worldwide can now visit www.ToyAwards.org to vote for SPAWN in the Action Figure of the Year Category.

Todd McFarlane remastered his first and original 1995 SPAWN action figure to reflect McFarlane Toys' award-winning 2020 hyper-detail sculpting and painting style. This SPAWN figure has a detailed costume, folding cape, 20 moving parts, original comic cover with NEW art, a resealable clamshell, a beautiful collector box with slipcover, and it is autographed by the legendary SPAWN creator Todd McFarlane!

"I want to thank the legions of SPAWN fans for all their support in making SPAWN a recording-breaking Kickstarter campaign," said Todd McFarlane, CEO and Creative Force for McFarlane Toys. "After making dozens of versions of SPAWN, going back to the very first SPAWN action figure to remaster and modernize it with all the skill sets, details, and technology that my company has learned over the past 26 years was so cool. With this action figure, we have created the best action figure version of SPAWN."

The Original SPAWN Action Figure and Comic Remastered (2020) broke the record for the most-funded AND the most-backed action figure campaign in the history of Kickstarter! The campaign ended up obliterating its goal as 23,761 backers brought the campaign to life with $3,447,390 funding.

Now it's YOUR chance to vote for Todd McFarlane's SPAWN figure for Action Figure of the Year. The fans' votes will decide the winner for the coveted People's Choice Award. Each voter will be entered for a chance to win the TOTY Action Figure of The Year toy prize package. To vote and enter the giveaway, visit www.ToyAwards.org between now and January 5, 2020.

Known as the "Oscars" of the toy industry, the TOTY Awards program recognizes the top playthings on the market and is a vital fundraiser for The Toy Foundation, which delivers the magic of play to millions of children in vulnerable situations.

Winners in each category, as well as the coveted overall "Toy of the Year" winner and "People’s Choice” honoree (based solely on consumer votes), will be announced at the virtual TOTY Awards gala on Friday, February 12, 2021. The celebration will include the induction of four industry trailblazers into the esteemed Toy Industry Hall of Fame and shine a spotlight on the toy industry's inspiring philanthropic work and The Toy Foundation.

Can't say 100% because Idon't have the figure in hand, but I am very pleased overall. Very satisfied with the torso articulation. Just hope the final product has sturdy joints. That cumbersome cake will most likely be replaced. Hope it's easy to remove.
