If you were looking to get your hands on the new DC Multiverse 7" scale Batman Dark Nights Metal figures from McFarlane Toys, at least here in the US it appears Walmart is the place you will need to go in order to find them. They are available for pre-order on the Walmart website now with a 9/29/20 release date.

The Grim Knight (The Batman Who Laughs)
Ripped from Batman’s greatest nightmares, The Grim Knight is his world’s most dangerous vigilante, unafraid to use any weapon and go to any lengths to stop those he deems worthy of death. Armed with the finest arsenal Wayne money can buy, he is now one of the deadliest Dark Knights in existence, second only to The Batman Who Laughs.

Product Features:
-The Grim Knight figure based on the comic book story arc Dark Nights Metal that stars in The Batman Who Laughs
-Batman accessories include two blasters and a base
-Included collectable art card with Dark Night’s Metal artwork on the front, and character biography on the back

Batman Earth-44 (Dark Nights: Metal)
Hailing from Earth -44 in the Dark Multiverse, this Dark Knight was born when an all-powerful A.I. program designed by Cyborg began to misinterpret its coding to homicidal ends. A cybernetic nightmare, The Murder Machine is a metallic mangling of the technological power of Cyborg and the tactical brilliance of Batman, formed by ever-changing nanobots.

Product Features:
-Batman: The Murder Machine figure based on the comic book story arc DarkNights Metal
-Batman accessories include an alternate attack arm and a base
-Included collectable art card with Dark Night’s Metal artwork on the front, and character biography on the back

Batman Earth-1 (Dark Nights: Metal)
Crashing into our world from the Dark Multiverse’s Earth -1 comes a nightmarish fusion of the only two beings capable of taking on the Man of Steel— Doomsday and Batman. The Devastator is an all-powerful creature in which the unstoppable might of Doomsday is combined with the unmatched intelligence of Batman.

Product Features:
-Batman: The Devastator figure based on the comic book story arc Dark Nights™ Metal
-Batman accessories includes a base
-Included collectable art card with Dark Night’s Metal artwork on the front, and character biography on the back

Batman Earth-32 (Dark Nights: Metal)
In DC’s Dark Multiverse, on Earth -32, the green light of will has twisted an angry Bruce Wayne into something very dark and sinister. After the murder of his parents in Crime Alley, young Bruce is gifted with a Green Lantern ring, which allows him to fly and to generate deadly hard-light energy constructs. With no Alfred Pennyworth to guide him, he soon swallows his fear and pain and lets the void that remains corrupt him and the ring, unleashing a wave of darkness across his world, and now ours, as The Dawnbreaker.

Product Features:
-Batman: TheDawnbreaker figure based on the comic book story arc Dark Nights Metal
-Batman accessories include Demon Bat Light Projection and a base
-Included collectable art card with Dark Night’s Metal artwork on the front, and character biography on the back

It should be noted that there is still no sign of the

Earth -52, Batman which is list with the other figures in the wave and we actually saw an early prototype image for back in April. It's unclear if that one will be released in a later wave or perhaps at a different store.

I was under the impression that Mcfarlane got the license to DC as in the whole DC universe not just Batman/Batman related characters.

They did, Todd just reeeally loves Batman, so of course he's doing the characters from the event where their whole thing is Batman + Other Character x Evil.

These look cool, but I really wish that Mcfarlane would do a strait up DC universe line, instead of multiple Batman figures.

Seriously, it's pretty exhausting, it's kinda lame when you can expect if we see 6 figures in this line in a wave 4 of them are a Batman, slow down man, does Todd know there are other characters he can make, it doesn't in the end matter to me because I don't collect this line or plan to be even remotely invested in it, I will only buy a figure here and there that look cool, so far it's only been Hellbat and Unchained Supes, I do really like the Azrael , I like the Doomsday and would probably grab it as well as Murder Machine Batman, the Red Death batman looked cool.

Hey Todd how about you get over Batman already.. you are going to run out of looks by the end of the year, than what will you do?haha

I agree that I think we are seeing to much Batman to soon, but at the same time some of you guys are kinda contradicting yourselves. My guess the two most popular figures in the line today are the Batman who laughs and Hellbat figures. With that it's not terribly surprising we are seeing a bunch of figures like these Metal ones or the ones from the White Knight storyline.

I mean the thing is in regards to the most popular figures in this line being Batman's is there isn't a lot of choice, so therefore with so many Batman's we are going to see them being generally more popular by auto default, if maybe we got say a wave with  3 Batmen, Martian Manhunter, Parasite, Black Manta, Huntress and Cheetah, I'd say that a lot of people would probably pick say a new Martian Manhunter over another batman, but since there has been little option it's an unfair battle

but maybe I'm wrong, I'm not sure if these figures are popular with the kids or the common toy buyer, if that's the case, they can never go wrong on the mass producing Superman's and Batman's because the likely hood of a kid or a parent walking into Wal-mart and saying "I want Sinestro" over a Batman is probably not going to happen, hey I'm not mad Todd needs to get the money, but I'm worried this line will burn out fast if he just keeps pumping out more of the same and not providing variety

Seems like we have a bit of a mystery on our hands about the true status of the McFarlane Toys upcoming DC Multiverse 7" Batman Dark Nights Metal figures, and whether or not they will be released as Walmart exclusives here in the US.

Walmart seems to want us to think they are in fact exclusive to them, as they have clearly marked them as such on their website.

McFarlane Toys seems to even back that claim up on their own official website with this recent image they added. Now we should note that the Mcfarlane Toys website only lists Walmart as the place to get these figures, but they never use the actual word exclusive.

On a side note, notice the new image from the McFarlane website shows the Earth -52, Batman figure, which had previously been missing from any released official images or listings. While the new image gives us our first official look at that figure, it is NOT currently listed for pre-order on Walmart's website, at least not that we could find. Anyway that's a mystery for another day.

So from all appearances as we reported yesterday, it would seem that Walmart would be the place to go if you want to get these figures in the United States. NOT SO FAST THOUGH. Since yesterday's story, we have gotten some indications that perhaps these are NOT Walmart exclusives at all, and that Walmart will only be releasing them first. TNI reader Greg pointed us to a post made by Toy Instagramer ToyShiz who suggested other retailer MIGHT be carrying the figures at a later date.

Now it certainly wouldn't be the first time we've seen a big box retailer get preferential treatment from a toy manufacturer, and is allowed to release an item(s) before anyone else. It's not a very fair practice in my opinion, and seems to be one that screws over the little guy, but I guess all is fair in love, war and business. Still when that happens, it's not generally refereed to as an "exclusive". An exclusive means you are the only place that will offer the item, at least that is what exclusive is supposed to mean. Even with other lines like Mattel's Masters of the Universe Origins line, which we know Walmart gets first dibs on, the word exclusive was never used to describe the product.

Never-the-less we wanted to try and get to the bottom of this, so we've reached out to a few small retailers to find out what they have heard. According to them, they have been told by their distributors that these figures will in fact only be released first at Walmart and then everywhere else about a month later. So we are talking late September/October for Walmart and then November for anyone else who chooses to carry these figures.

Now we should note that we have not heard anything official directly from McFarlane Toys on this and that sometimes things change and distributors can be going off outdated information. In other words we can't tell you definitively at this point that these ARE or AREN'T Walmart exclusives, but despite what is listed on the Walmart website, there are decent indications that in fact they aren't.

I get that he wants to do Batman being that he's not only one of the most iconic comic book characters but also one of the most profitable. I also understand the need to have the popular character anchor the wave the way that every Marvel Legends X-men wave has a Wolverine variant, every Spider-Man wave has a variation of Spider-Man and so on and so forth. He could include one Batman or one Superman figure in a wave and include other characters. For example, the fact that they are doing a Green Lantern variant of Batman before comic book versions of Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner has me scratching my head. When this line was announced, I wasnt really interested; still I decided to take a wait and see approach to what Todd would come up with but so far I'm not impressed.

Makes sense when you consider that the Batman who laughs sold out faster than any other figure in that wave. Need to finish the full team of Dark Knights. On the other hand for those sick of Batman look at it this way: the first few waves will have the most issues so by the time he gets around to doing other characters most of those issues (scale, articulation etc) should be ironed out.

Some stores seem to do this where they list them as exclusive cause they know they are getting the figures earlier than everyone else to try and boost their sales as an "exclusive item" only found in their stores before the others are able to sell the items as well, most people dont realize what they are doing and fall for it thinking its really an exclusive item, in the ends its a tricky practice and shouldnt be made they should list the stuff as "First at ...." or something to that effect so that people who really want these items know were to find them at first but people who can wait wont feel the need to hurry up and buy them there before they run out (it also doesnt help that the word "Exclusive" in the toy industry usually means less production hence it usually means for collectors get it while you can and makes the scalpers hunt them more and other negative practices from collectors that wouldnt do if they knew the items will be sold later everywhere elese)

Shame this line is in 7' scale. And even worse is the over saturation of Batman in every form imaginable during these 1st few waves. Is this the DC multiverse line or Batverse line? Seems like the latter. Maybe one day, A ML 6' scale compatible  DCU  line will be made. But I won't hold my breath on it.
