McFarlane DC Multiverse Batman and BTAS Blue And Gray Variants revealed

Back in January when McFarlane Toys officially announced their new line of 7" DC Multiverse figures, one of the figures listed was a Batman: Detective Comics #1000 Variant Chase. Now thanks to Comic Toy Hunter from Germany, we have our first look at that figure. You can see that it's the same figure as the regular Batman, only the emblem on the chest is different and it now features more classic blue and gray colors. The packaging and all the accessories are the same.

It also appears that McFarlane Toys is giving the same chase variant treatment for their Batman: The Animated Series Batman figure as well. This one which is a straight repaint, is a bit of an odd choice since Batman never featured the blue and gray outfit in that series. Check out the video and images below for better looks at the figure, and look for these to start hitting US shelves soon.

I may like the black colors for any Batman figures, the blue colors here kinda look nice for the comic version of Batman, can't say the same for the animated version. Not that it looks bad just not for me.

Well, finally someone found them, I think one day we will see them appear in the aftermarket at hilarious prices.

They havent really hit, these are from Germany, but they havent been released in the US yet. I doubt these will be hard to get.

I was not interested in the black and grey Batman but if the main release was this classic blue and grey I would have brought 2 easily. Love that color scheme and that bat symbol is looking nice! Hopefully I can get this without the insane prices I think this will go for.

I love variants, glad to see they even gave Comics Bats new belt, and animated Batman reminds me of old JLU figure variants. However, when you compare that comics Bats to DCC Knightfall essentials Bats it’s obvious which figure is overall more superior but that could be only me.

Then, are they limited chase variants or just common repaints available anywhere?

Also wondering how widely these versions will be?  Can't really go out and hunt right now, I'd like to see a simple preorder available at the usual places.

We have gotten word that the DC Multiverse 7" Batman: Detective Comics #1000 Variant Blue And Gray figure from McFarlane Toys is being treated as an actual chase figure, which simply means it's gonna be a pain to get.

As we understand it, the variant figure is shipping in cases with the regular black and gray version, which of course many retailers already have. We have gotten word that places like Walmart are getting shipments that include 4 WW84 Wonder Woman figures, 4 Armored Wonder Woman figures and 8 Modern Batman. We don't know for sure how many of those 8 Batman figures will be the blue and gray chase version, but the likelihood is that it will be a small number like one or two.

Places like our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com will be getting cases that have 5 of the regular Batman and only 1 of the blue and gray chase version.

Unfortunately it does not look like McFarlane Toys is allowing anyone to order just straight cases of the blue and gray figure, at least not right now. So being able to sell the blue and gray figure individually is not terribly feasible for smaller businesses, at least not at cost. Right now BBTS is allowing you to purchase an entire unsealed case of 6 figures at cost, but that means you will be stuck with 5 regular Batman figures in order to get the chase version.

Because of this, you can probably expect the secondary market prices on the blue and gray version to be quit hefty. If your lucky enough to find one in the wild, i'd probably grab it and display it proudly in your collection.

If we get any word of the figure being released in greater numbers of if McFarlane decided to allow retailers to order solid cases of the blue and gray figure, we will be sure to update this story.

This is not necessarily something I was looking for but if the blue and grey Batman were easy to get then I might grab one. I'm not going to purchase an entire case full of the regular black and grey version or go out on wild goose chases to obtain him.

Ultimately it's just not a very good mold so I'm not too heartbroken about!

I feel like the sculpts on these are good, but that articulation mid torso is such an eyesore and ruins the look of the body. Not sure why it's like that since McF has done other figures with more seamless cuts.

I've gotten word that the blue and grey Batman figures seem to be shipping to Walmarts 4 per case. So shouldn't be as hard to find there as smaller etailers.
