NECA Teases Their Updated Armored Lost Predator Figure

Recommended Posts

NECA today released this teaser image showing the new headsculpt for their updated Armored Lost Predator figure. It's hard to say for sure, but this new headsculpt appears to have a light up eyes feature. The original Armored Lost Predator figure was released in wave 11, and this new one will be released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Predator 2.

Caught me off guard when I first saw the picture pop up, I thought NECA picked up Transformers and it was a Bayformer head. This is a better outcome.

A good way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Predator 2 would be to finally give fans a Harrigan figure, but Randy Falk will never do it.

May be likeness rights issues at play.

I don't think so.  He's said again and again that he doesn't like the character and thinks it's "dumb" that Dutch couldn't kill a Predator on his own, but Harrigan could.

Despite Randy's personal opinions on a character, believe it or not NECA doesn't decide what figures get made or don't solely on what he likes or doesn't like.

I suppose for Randy his own self-righteous opinion and personal tastes are totally valid when choosing which product to develop or what licenses neca should acquire, I remember a few years ago when the Castlevania Netflix series was released and someone asked him on Twitter if neca was planning to acquire the license, and Randy said: "Oh no, I don't like anime and this looks a lot like anime, so I'm not interested," a totally valid reason I guess .

I mean, I guess I can believe it now.  Once upon a time, he had been pretty vocally opposed to making figures from AVP and Alien: Resurrection.
