Get you questions ready for my next interview

Recommended Posts

So last weeks interview with Todd McFarlane was so popular I've decided to keep it going as a regular thing. My next interview which should be up later in the week will be with Jerry Macaluso. Now for many of you, he probably isn't nearly as well known a name as Todd, but I think he will make a very interesting interview. Jerry has worked in both Hollywood and the toy industry for a long time. For Hollywood he did work in makeup and special effects for such movies as Toxic Avengers 2, Darkman and Spawn. For the toy industry he has been a sculptor who has done work for companies such as Toy Biz, Hasbro, Mattel, Palisades and ReSaurus. In the early 2000's he helped start a company called  SOTA Toys which is best known for their awesome line of 6" Street Fighter figures which were on par with Marvel Legends back in the day. Probably did one of the most successful lines for Street Fighter to date. In later years he started another company which he has now sold that focused primarily on statues called Pop Culture Shock. This interview won't be about breaking news on any current toylines, but I am going to be talking to him about things like what its like starting a small toy company in this day and age, what life as a action figure sculptor is like and what it was like working in Hollywood on movies such as Toxic Avengers. I am really going to try and delve deep into the inner workings of this industry so you guys can get a better idea of how all this stuff works. I hope you will check it out, and if you have any questions for Jerry please feel free to post them below and I will see about incorporating them into the interview.

I've got a simple question as i can't think of other better ones:

What inspired you (Jerry) to sculpt figures in general?

Oh wait I've got another one i think

Which line was his favorite on when figure/statue sculpting? And which movie is favorite in terms of doing the special effects?

Just just spent the last 90 mins or so talking with Jerry. Thought it was very insightful. If you want to learn more about what its like to work in the toy industry and how lines like the Sota Street Fighter stuff came about I hope you will check out my interview when it goes live. Shooting to have it up Friday.

Oh and if you need a click bait type teaser for the interview to peek your interest, tune in to find out how the porn industry helped pave the way for Sota's Street Fighter figures. If those two things don't make for strange bed fellows I don't know what does

I forgot that Sota Toys made the Charmed figures.   If I had remembered, I might had some questions about.  I like the diorama pieces that came with the Charmed figures.
