G.I. Joe is here! D3 Go! and Emerald City Games along with Hasbro, Inc. announced today that G.I. Joe: War on Cobra is coming soon to mobile devices. Launching worldwide on the App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore on January 20, 2020, G.I. Joe: War on Cobra is full of epic new missions and features a wealth of fan favorite heroes, villains, and vehicles from the 1980s animated TV series and iconic action figure line. Choose your side, build your team, and engage in strategic battles with other players by land, sea, and air!

Players can pre-register G.I. Joe: War on Cobra today via Google Play.

That is actually very cool! I totally see those as action figures. Would be Toybox style, but still kinda cool.

It might work for a subline, but not a main line.

Exactly, Star Wars after the movies had the "Expanded Universe" with books, comics and video games that kept the franchise relevant and then the prequels came out, love them or hate them they were commercially successful and kept the toyline and property profitable.

Looks like Clash of Clans: GI Joe edition. and it will be microtransactioned out the buttocks as well as stamina bars and currency. I wouldnt get my hopes up of it being anything but a cash grab game. Mobile space makes so much money from such atrocities.
