Now that I see Tom Welling in this shot maybe he would fit the Kingdom Come Superman role just as well or better. He looks more like the Alex Ross Superman. Well here's to hoping it doesn't suck either.

Yeah, that seems weird, right?  Welling is older than Routh, and while he's a not as good an actor, he's still in this.  Plus Routh already plays an entirely different character in these shows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Im still kinda confused on the whole Kingdom Come angle. I know his suit now looks like that but this is also supposed to be the Christopher Reeve Superman right? Thats the version of Superman he played in Superman Returns and this is a continuation of that right?

Is The Atom also gonna be in this to?

I believe he's supposed to be the Superman from the Donner universe (previously played by Reeve), and there will likely be references.  We can assume Kingdom Come happens after those movies.  Alternatively, with infinite Earths, he could be from a different, but ALMOST exactly the same world with other super heroes being the divergent detail.  I'm trying to not think about this too hard, because it's the CW.

The Atom might not be in this episode, but he will be part of the event, and I would count on them being onscreen at the same time at some point, probably with one of those tropey shots where they're both looking at each other really closely at the same time or they both say, "You look really familiar" at the exact same time.

Maybe the DCU is trying to test the waters for reaction to the Kingdom Come angle in hopes that it could lead to a big screen deal with Kingdom Come Superman. I would certainly be interested in that.

As long as Berlanti and Guggenheim stay the hell away from it, I would, too.
