'Cause there's people that like model kits and would buy models of anything, also Sony and Sega being japanese I would figure geeks from over there will appreciate such kits out of nostalgia or pride for their country's achievements in technology or something like that.

Japan has that kind of thing, they produce stuff we may find ridiculous and/or unnecessary, like miniature food that you can prepare yourself but is not edible. A cultural thing I guess. I actually find it quite interesting.

Why does anyone buy a model kit of anything? Because they like to build, they like the minute details, they are a fan of it. You pick but there is in fact a huge market out there for stuff like this. I've never personally been into models just because I don't have the patients for them but I certainly can understand those who do.

I initially thought the same thing hahaha 🤣

As someone who spent his university years with these consoles, they do invoke a bit of nostalgia ^^

I like building occassionally and lean more towards soul of chogokin stuff personally.

I saw this on BBTS the other day and actually thought it was electronics at a glance. lol I wonder if they would ever do this for an actual working system. They give you an unassembled, but fully functional system that you can assemble yourself, with the trickier parts already assembled most of the way. I've never opened up a system though so I couldn't say how fun or how interesting that would actually be.
