Arrow co-creator Marc Guggenheim revealed a promotional image for the upcoming female-centric Arrow spinoff featuring the new Green Arrow Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara), as well as the two Canaries (Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy), Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake.

The spinoff will center around Mia Smoak, known as Green Arrow, and the Canaries Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake. The new superhero squad is a next-generation version of Team Arrow with the costumed offspring of the original membership. At the center of the next-gen collective is Smoak, the fierce daughter of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) aka Green Arrow, the central character of Arrow and the former mayor of Star City.

The project being set up as a backdoor pilot will air as an episode for the upcoming eighth and final season of Arrow. The episode is being handled under Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros Television and will be written by Beth Schwartz, Marc Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship and Oscar Balderrama.

Seriously? Hard pass. This is actually sad. The show that started it all goes out like this...

I assume these are the characters that they have been building up since last season that are in the future. I dont have a problem with it if its good, but if they just rehash the same stuff with different actors I dont see the point.

I do hope Oliver ends up surviving the Crisis storyline and will be able to continue making guest appearances in various shows going forward. I do feel like the Arrow series has run its course but that Oliver Queen still has a use in the DCTV universe.

I watched the first episode of the final season of Arrow last night and enjoyed it overall. I like how while technically the Crisis crossover doesn't begin until December, both Arrow and Flash seem to be focusing on it as their main plot device right out the gate.

For the record I've watched the first two episodes of Batwoman and think its showing potential. At the very least I am liking the character better now than I did in last season's crossover appearance. I don't really see how the show goes forward for any long period of time without bringing Bruce Wayne and Batman into it in some way eventually similar to what we saw with Superman in the Supergirl series.

Technically, this would be an "Embedded Pilot." A "Backdoor Pilot" would be like a TV special or TV movie.

As for the show? Could be cool. Batwoman is surprisingly good, Supergirl has shown some improvement (but still has a looong way to go) and even the Flash seems to be coming around.

Cautiously optimistic.

I've watched this show live every week since the beginning of season 2. I'm all for female empowerment. Supergirl is very good. Legends of Tomorrow led by Sara is still great. Batwoman sucks. This is going to suck. Let the ship go down with Stephen Amell.

I have to admit that so far I'm really enjoying Batwoman.  Yes those trailers were terrible, but I'm liking the show itself a lot so far.  Arrow was so awful last season with the flash forwards of Ollie's kids I wanted to puke or stop watching the show, not sure in what order.  I have a soft spot for Katie Cassidy from early on Arrow when it was great, so I'm at least willing to give this show a try and see how it goes.
