Did anyone watch the premiere last night? I thought it was pretty weird, now granted I’m not enough of a Watchman fan to really have been able to catch most of the nods and nuances to the original source material which maybe would have helped. I will probably keep watching though to see how it plays out.

i did! very trippy, but i think that was a good thing. i definitely get the Alan Moore vibe from the world. i think part of why i love the comic is that it's so gritty and raw and i can totally see that in the show.

(spoiler) the blood drop on the badge at the end was a nod to the blood on the comedians pin!

Yeah I got that one and a few other nods, but is this meant to be a continuation from the graphic novel or something separate?

The series is going to take place in the same type environment as The Watchmen but none of the original Watchmen will be in the series.  It's going to be a whole new group of  Superheroes.

I believe it's in continuity with the comic book series over the film but 30+ years later after the minutemen group is long gone. interesting to see that they had a ship like Night Owl's , maybe it was the same one?

Spoilers:

There was a news report during the episode mentioning  something about Dr Manhattan    Being on Mars. There was also the TV series which seems to be about all the superheroes from the graphic novel. And people are speculating that the Jeremy Irons character is really an old Ozymandias
