Jonah Hill & Jeffrey Wright In Negotiations For Matt Reeves' 'The Batman'

Recommended Posts

Sources from within are reporting that Jonah Hill and Westworld star Jeffrey Wright are in in negotiations for Matt Reeves' The Batman.

Robert Pattinson is headlining as the Dark Knight with Wright is looking to play Commissioner Gordon.  Sources are stating that Hill is being looked over for a villain role but the deal hasn’t closed and sources say it could still fall apart, but both sides are engaging on Hill joining.

Pre-production on the Warner Bros.-DC Comics movie is expected to start this summer. No official production start date has been set.

Reeves took over the directing duties from Ben Affleck in January 2017 and has been developing the project ever since.  He is credited for helming the last two “Planet of the Apes” sequels.  Reeves’ “Planet of the Apes” collaborator Dylan Clark is also attached as producer.

The Batman is set for a June 25th, 2021, release.

I agree with Satam, both these guys are excellent. If this bombs it wont be their fault. Don't know much about Pattinson other than the first two vampire movies he did. Thought he did good work on those. Lets hope for the best.

I love the casting but does it mean that  this movie  isn’t part of old DCEU? Because Wright obviously looks very different than J.K Simons who was Gordon in Justice League, Ofc it could be argued that looks and ethnicity really isn’t that big of a part here and Wright indeed could be younger version of J.K Simmons and it’s set still in the same universe, nonetheless it still raises questions, maybe they do want to do flashpoint/crisis type event down the line when they can merge old DCEU with another’s one.

Well I'm not sure if the movie will be a success but i am only familiar with Jeffrey Wright, as long as he does a good role on Comissioner Gordon I'm ok with that decision

Sources have informed Variety that Jonah Hill has passed on taking a role in 'The Batman.'

No reason was provided on why Hill is passing though it was very early in the negotiations and that a deal was far from closing.  One of the points brought up in negotiations was whether Hill would play the Penguin or Riddler, and now casting will have to start over for these possible roles.

Recently announced was Zoe Kravitz was cast to play Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, in the Matt Reeves-directed film that also stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

Awful castings all around.  This movie was born dead.
