McFarlane Toys Announces 7" Mortal Kombat Variant Gamestop Exclusive Figures

McFarlane Toys is giving their 7" Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero and Scorpion figures the variant treatment with these two Gamestop exclusives, the hell–spawned Scorpion and ice clone Sub-Zero.

Sub-Zero will include a a base, two Ice Axes, and frozen head with spine while Scorpion will feature a base, two Ninja Swords, and a Kunai Spear. The figure mask will be interchangeable with the regular Scorpion figure. Both figures are due out in November.

That Sub Zero reminds me of that one Cold Snap version from I think Jazwares like 5-10 years ago. Pretty cool tho the same reasons im not digging the regular versions also apply here. Too damn lanky and that scorpion eye/headsculpt is just off putting. I really wished theyd release these figs with some of the extra gear as options so you could essentially "recreate" your personal look in the game and then have the variants come with different parts to interchange with. Oh well.

I knew something like this would happen but why Gamestop?  Oh well, I checked their website and they only have the normal figures listed for purchase.  I'll have to keep checking...

Truth. I'm not even sad.  Their business model was not sustainable in today's market.

Subzero looks really good here.  Not a fan of the lack of articulation, but hopefully the mold will be decent enough.  

Scorpion looks sad though

The eyes on this Scorpion looks better than the original one, although something still seems off about the face. The Sub-Zero is a must have.

The figures look pretty cool, but I'll have to pass on these guys.  I'm just collecting too much as it is.

I didn't really liked the design for these, but that ice clone! I love that kinda translucent plastic, may have to get that one.

I'm looking for these 2 figures if anyone comes across these at Gamestop.  I see these are starting to hit eBay so I know they are out and all the Gamestop around me just hire scalpers and they want an arm and leg for them.

I appreciate it and of course I'll throw in extra for the help...

The Gamestop website finally got these in so I was able to place an order.

Variation value sure has changed from the old days... On-line variations used to have a limit of 1 or maybe 2. Now, how many would you like to order? 10? 15?
