A lot happened this past weekend at Power-Con and we wanted to bring you a recap of all the announcements made by Mattel for Masters of the Universe, She-Ra and their newly announced WWE/MOTU Mash-Up line titled Masters Of The WWE Universe. Be sure to check out new detailed images from Shakil Assi of everything shown by Mattel at the event below in our GALLERY

Masters of the WWE Universe

For Masters of the WWE Universe line they had on hand Terror-Claws HHH which will be included with the Castle Grayskull wrestling ring along with He-Man John Cena. The ring features things like wood-like stairs that you can store your figures weapons in. Also shown were the figures in the first wave which include New Day Man-E-Faces that has the faces of all 3 members of the New Day team. Finn Balor Beastman, Ultimate Warrior, HHH Skull King and Clawful Sting.

For the second wave they debuted at Power-Con Macho Man-At-Arms with multiple battle-armor chest pieces, Rey Mysterio Stratos and Roman Reigns Fisto with removable gauntlet.

The figures will come with collector booklets telling the story of these characters and the roles they play on planet WWEternia. The figures are based on the classic MOTU buck but have added articulation so they can, well actually wrestle. The figures are also compatible with Mattel's new Masters of the Universe: Origins line and parts from all these figures will be interchangeable with one another.
She-Ra And The Princess Of Power

For fans of the new Netflix She-Ra animated series Mattel showed off new doll-like action figures based on the show including Adora, She-Ra, Swift-Wind, Bow, Glimmer and Catra.

Masters Of The Universe: Origins

Masters of the Universe is returning to mass-retail in 2020 with a new line of products titled "Origins" which will include the likes of 5.5" action figures, vehicles and mini-figures.

The first wave of 5.5" action figures will include He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Teela, Skeletor, Beastman and Evil-Lyn. Also shown for the first time was Trap Jaw which is likely slated for wave 2.

These figures feature new bucks that are reminiscent of the original 80's toy line but feature added articulation. The figures also have removable limbs that are interchangeable with one-another as well as those from the Masters of the WWE Universe line. The figures feature character specific weapon accessories and will be packaged in classic looking cardbacks which will also include new mini-comics.

To go along with the figures it was announced a new Battle Cat was being released for this line with a removable battle helmet and a Sky Sled that will include a Prince Adam figure. The Sky Sled and Prince Adam weren't on display at the con but they did show a slide of it at their panel. These will also come in classic looking packaging.

We will also be seeing new Mini-Figure 2-packs which will include special chase variant figures. The chase figures shown at Power-Con include comic-based Trap Jaw, Slime-Pit He-Man, Gold-Armor Skeletor and Serpent Claw Man-At-Arms. All these mini-figures will come as blind-packs.

The 5.5." figures will retail for $14.99 each, Battle Cat will retail for $24.99, Sky Sled with Prince Adam will retail for $29.99 and the Mini-figure 2-packs will cost $4.99 each.

Masters Of The Universe: Revelation Anime Netflix Series

Finally yesterday actor/director Kevin Smith announced at PowerCon that he was heading up a new Masters of the Universe animated series coming to Netflix which will pick up were the original cartoon left off. The new series is called Masters of the Universe: Revelation with the animation being handled by the company known as Powerhouse who also worked on the current Castlevania Netflix series.

Here is a synopsis of the new series:

A radical return to Eternia, Revelation is a direct sequel series to the classic era of Masters of the Universe. Featuring fan favorites He-Man, Orko, Cringer and Man-At-Arms, the story pits our heroic warriors and guardians of Castle Grayskull against Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beastman and the vile legions of Snake Mountain!

But after a ferocious final battle forever fractures Eternia, it's up to Teela to solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to prevent the end of the Universe! Her journey will uncover the secrets of Grayskull at last. This is the epic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe saga fans have waited 35 yeas to see! .

A release date for the show has yet to be announced but likely will air sometime in 2020.

Mattel is back full force with Masters and I love it. The Origins line is interesting, I'll be more selective on the figures I get from this line, the Trapjaw looks darn good! Evil-Lyn is an instant buy as well, not sure about the rest. Battle Cat is nice but will ultimately be passing on him but man that boxart!

The WWE/MOTU mashup thing is not really of interest but come on how cool is that "Macho Man-at-Arms"!

Can't wait to see more of the upcoming Netflix Masters series, have faith in Kevin Smith here, hopefully we won't have to wait much longer for a screenshot or character art.

Overall great convention, just so much awesome stuff to take in. Only downside is my favorite line of all time MOTU Classics will be taking an extended hiatus which is a bummer but so much other stuff to look forward to.

Very interesting and exciting stuff.  That's very smart to make the limbs interchangeable.  Combining that with the WWE stuff will be a big draw for people who like to customize.  I'm sure I'll at least be getting the main cast of MOTU characters.

I definitely want Trap-Jaw, too. I'm also anticipating for some character designs. It be nice if it was slightly tweaked Filmation designs and I hope to see some incredible animation with detailed art. I'm hoping it turns out similar to that old animated pitch commercial.

I'm a little confused about the release date, will the Origins be launched near this year's holiday season or 'til next fall?.

I mean, I could be wrong, but these don't look like figures that will take over a year to produce.

Pixel-Dan caught up with Mattel's Britt Shotts at this past weekends Power-Con convention to talk about whats coming for Masters of the Universe: Origins. Britt previously worked on the Jurassic World brand for Mattel but recently switched over to Masters.

The big take away's from the interview are that toys for the new movie will soon be going into production, and what we are seeing with Origins now is just the beginning. It's a new Renaissance for Masters of the Universe.

Also Trap Jaw and the three 5.5" Origins figures they teased at their panel which included Orko, Scareglow and Man-E-Faces could either be released in series 2 or 3 but they aren't saying which. Brit also promises lots of character variety in this line and lots of newness at retail as they plan to do something like 4 new refreshes or mixes of the assortments each year they do this line. The origins will be available in Fall 2020 at mass retail.

"lots of character variety in this line".

I wonder how much variety, are we going to have characters beyond the original line-up?, episodic and obscure characters from the Filmation series?, characters from concept art and prototypes that were not produced in the original line?

"and lots of newness at retail as they plan to do something like 4 new refreshes or mixes of the assortments each year they do this line"

I wonder exactly what that means and how they intend to do it.

I think that basically translate that you will see more than just He-Man and Skeletor everytime you go into a store which is what happened with the 200x line.

I will support 100% this new relaunch of MOTU by Mattel.

How cool would that be! Always wished the original series had this animation. I think this new series has promise, hopefully we get detailed animation.

As someone who goes to PowerCon every year I have to say this was the best one they’ve done so far.  Much bigger show floor with more guests and vendors.  Great reveals and enthusiasm from Mattel.  Lots of media and entertainment announcements.  And reveals for lines like Thundercats and TMNT that normally one would only expect to get at one of the big 3 events (SDCC, NYTF, and NYCC).

I will get the Macho Man and is that a Skelletor figure supposed to be Triple H in disguise? Then I will get it too... Look at the panel video...

Matty held a brief Q&A session during the Con and I found a little disapointing to know that they don't have any plans for Evil Horde and/or Snake Men figures at the moment, also no alternate hands in order the keep the price as low as possible, neither plans for playsets (I kinda understand the reason why) oh and if anyone was wondering no plans for She-Ra stuff yet and finally no many vehicles on this line, that includes the 3 dinosaurs from the PoG line-up that were on the top of my wishlist, anyway... I'm still in.

I thinks it's too early in the line to introduce the Horse or She-ra... In the 80s they introduce those characters after the first ones were stablished...

Yeah, in the 80's, but in the motuc line the Horde was introduced earlier, if I remember correctly Hordak was released in the 2nd year.

Because they did not followed what it was done in the original line...

By the way this new line is called origins...

I have to agree with you I was not expecting how good PowerCon was this year.

Super7 brought it this year, Tmnt was brilliant with the retro weapons toy rack.

Even though I got the 2 complete sets of  Mattels Thundercats it's a good chance for people to get who missed out the first time.

I already pre order some Thundercats figures...👍

I wasn't gonna order since I have two full sets of the Mattel Thundercats but just had to pre-order this last day. Had to have the extra accessories and headsculpts.

I sold months ago my Thundercats Mattel set but now that they are coming back with Super 7, I'm all about collecting them.

I’ve decided the Mumm-Ra is different enough with the cloth goods to go ahead and pick up this new one despite having the Mattel one.
