Universal Pictures have released a "Halloween Announcement" video on YouTube stating that the saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode isn't over.

Universal is looking to continue the franchise based off of David Gordon Green and Danny McBride’s successful reincarnation of John Carpenter’s Halloween with two more additional films.  The studio said Friday that Halloween Kills will bow on October 16, 2020, and another, Halloween Ends, is set for October 15, 2021.

The 2018 rebooted franchise featuring original star Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode and her nemesis Michael Myers become the highest-grossing installment in the horror franchise at $255.5 million worldwide.

Wow! Way to overwrite the previous sequels with a complete Halloween quartet.

Trio.  Or do you mean quartet with the original?

Quartet with original. I have never heard of any film franchise that can easily ditch the sequels in favor of a better timeline.

And it's been done more than once with this particular franchise.

Terminator franchise... They are ditching all the Terminator movies after Terminator 2 for the new Terminator movie coming out in November.

But they've tried that a couple times, and it's only worked out on television.  I do have hopes for Dark Fate, tho.
