I was waiting for a classic custumed Batman for the Essentials line and he looks great! And that Catwoman came out of left field, she is awesome. Pre-ordering these for sure. Glad the Essentials line seems to be continuing.

Very interesting to see these essentials. Especially Batman and Catwoman. I was hoping to see these classic looks in action figure form.

Sinestro's head looks too small (shouldn't it be the opposite?).  Batman and Purple Catwoman look good, and the Batwoman statue actually looks better than Ruby Rose does in her costume (more criticism of the show than praise for the statue).  The Catwoman statue looks good...IT'S $90 AND LESS THAN 5" TALL?!?!?

Sinestro and Catwoman seem like an apology for the exact same versions we were supposed to get in now cancelled Icons line,  even tho Icons versions had far more detail. I do have weak spot for that Catwoman costume and even classic Bats looks cool but those arms... They are terrible, DCC never had problem sculpting all new molds, why can't they sculpt new proportional arms is beyond me.

All cool stuff but it’s still just irritating that it’s 80-100% Batman universe every single time.  We all love Batman but let’s spread some of that love around to the rest of the DC Universe.

Wasn’t the Hal Jordan Green Lantern coming out this year along with Wonder Woman and Cheetah?! Batman looks great, and Catwoman ain’t too bad either!  How can Marvel pump out their figures but us DC fans have to wait forever it seems just to get just the popular figures out never mind the 2nd and 3rd tier characters?!

I'm definitely preordering the classic style Bats and Catwoman.  I have a great affinity for those particular costumes.  My only other purple Cat is from the DC Direct Knightfall years ago that bears a very Jim Balent style appearance.  vzZMUEvtQquQ6QSxlDaFOA_thumb_133.thumb.jpg.417ec504543c041f0e2351c3697c5ec1.jpg

DCC Makes statues for a show that hasnt aired yet. But stopped making figures for shows on their 8th and 6th season. I'm 100% convinced were not going to get any better iterations of flash or arrow figures.

I never say never, but unfortunately I don't see DCC doing any new DCTV figures anytime soon. While articulation could have been a bit better they were still immensely better figures than the Mattel ones.

The essentials figures look ok, I think the best looking one is the Catwoman figure (though for some reason I personally never really liked this suit), the batman figure at first thought was an easy pass but after watching the Batman vs TMNT movie, and seeing that DC collectibles is making that Mikey as batman figure for SDCC, somehow I think theyll probably announce also at SDCC a line of figures of this movie, and the Batman figure looks pretty much like it could fit the aesthetic of the animation, it also looks like itll be in perfect scale to that Mikey figure since its supposed to be a little shorter.

I think it’s Diamond that’s making that TMNT/Batman figure not DC Collectibles

Check out the bbts item they put up https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/93612 its made by dc collectibles but its being distributed by Diamond during the show I guess, thats why I wondered if DC collectibles might be thinking of doing a line based on the animated movie and this figure is just a one off exclusive (to kind of preview what the line will be)

Ah, yup looks like you are right.  Interesting.  Traditionally DC Collectibles sells their SDCC exclusives via the Graphitte Designs booth (although it’s been a couple of years since DC Collectibles has done an SDCC Exclusive) but yeah looks like this time it’s via the Diamond booth.  Weird.
