Recommended Posts

The second day of Star Wars: Celebration is kicking off with a bang today starting with the much anticipated Episode IX panel. We expect the title as well as some kind of trailer or teaser trailer will be released. We will be live blogging the panel here and will add any trailers here as well once they are made available online so be sure to refresh your browser often over the course of the next hour to get the latest updates.

Also be sure to check back later this afternoon JediInsider for coverage of the Hasbro toy panel at 4pm ET where we expect Hasbro to make some new reveals. They already have a covered display case out teasing folks walking buy this morning.

Warwick Davis is out warming up the crowd as the panel will officially begin at noon ET.

Here is a live-stream video of the panel.

Stephen Colbert is hosting the panel as it begins.

Colbert is giving an opening dialogue. He apparently got to visit the Episode IX set. The President of LucasFilm Kathleen Kennedy and director J.J. Abrams come out.

This movie will be a third act of a 9 movie arc story according to Kennedy.

Abrams says they are in the editing stage of the film.

Kennedy says because this story has spaded over 40 years they have strived to make the story relevant to modern movie audiences. Abrams added that they also wanted people to be able to enjoy the movie on its own.

Abrams said they couldn't fill the void of Carrie Fisher. You can't recast it and just have her disappear. They are going to use unseen scenes from Force Awakens in this movie. They are writing scenes around her. Princess Leia lives in this film that is mind blowing to Abrams.

There has been some time since Last Jedi pass and this one. And image from the movie has been added below.

Anthony Daniels and R2-D2 are now coming out. Siri frightens Daniels. He has a book coming out but can't give the title of it until tomorrow. He wanted to give it the title of but was told no one would understand. The title he wanted to give was Telling The Odds. This is for his memories. The audience liked it.

Billy Dee Williams now comes out. Billy Dee loves J.J. Abrams. He regards this as a real highlight. Colbert asked him how did he find Lando again after 40 years, Lando responded he never left.

Picture of Lando from the movie shown.

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, Naomi Ackie, BB-8, R2-D2 come out on stage. Naomi's character is name Jana. Naomi would not confirm or deny if Lando is her character's father.

Oscar says no one can pilot the Falcon than Han but Poe is the better Uber driver and can pilot anything.

Colbert asked Ridley if Rey has read all the Jedi books from the tree. Also Luke's lightsaber lives.

Abrams says Rey does extraordinary things in this movie. No more semi naked Kylo images.

The crowd cheers loudly for Kelly Marie Tran.

Suotamo said Borgs taste best fried.

BB-8 has a new friend named D0.

Teaser trailer is coming up. The movie is titled Rise Of Skywalker. Emperor Palpatine is back

Panel ends.
