That Starfire is really pretty. Hopefully the same beauty applies to the released product.

I've yet to see the Lobo wave at retail and being the line is ending I have to concur it's harder to justify plopping money down for these things. I saw the Shazam movie figure at Walmart the other day but decided to pass on it, looked to skinny for the character.

Same, I haven't seen the Lobo wave in stores at all... I dont have a batman beyond figure so I was hoping to stumble on to one and only have to pay 20 bucks. The prospect of a McFarlane Terry has me second guessing even buying the Mattel figure.

Don't you mean what McFarlane has planned?

No son, I mean SPIN MASTERS. At this point I've made my thoughts on McFarlane pretty clear. I am however anxious to see what Spin Masters has in store.

I'm not going to preorder this wave. I'll wait until I see some reviews first. The prototypes look good, but Mattel hasn't done too well with matching the prototypes on these Multiverse figures.
If it was known that the Ninja Batman was going to be the collect and connect I totally missed that. I was looking forward to him just being packed by himself, but I'm not sure I want to buy the whole wave to make him. At that price I might as well go with the import version.

Wait, I thought Spin Master will only be making toys aimed at small boys like rc and electronic toys, games and puzzles. Do they also have plans to produce some kind of action figures?.

Yes, the Spin Masters license includes action figures, and Spin Masters has already stated they have plans in that area. McFarlane has the license to make "Adult Collector" figures. Mattel still maintains the preschool and girls lines.

Not the way I'd do things, but there's room for all camps.

My thoughts exactly. If the actual product looks the same/very similar, I'm definitely interested. I actually just got a decent deal on the Icons John Stewart so am not looking for another version of him at this point, though the prototype Multiverse looks nice. I probably would've been interested in picking up Ninja Batman on his own but the budget's too tight right now to pick up the wave for him. Eh, the life of a collector, right? ?

There's a bunch of stuff to buy/watch. Sometimes I feel I'm getting too carried away & need to focus on something else that doesn't require expenses.

Oh yeah, I hear you on that. The expense and the increasingly shrinking display places are both big issues. I know I need to thin out my collection but darn if I know where to start.

Well, you could do what I did when I got rid of my ToyBiz Marvel Legends figures. I just said "Damn the torpedoes' dove in and started putting stuff on Ebay. I needed space, they were only collecting dust, and I found good use for the money I made. Sure, there were some I later regretted selling off, but sometimes you just have to take the horns by the bull.

Seriously considering having a similar purge for my DCUCs.

I did likewise with the majority of my Star Wars collection.  I was out of room and it was all in storage.  There are things I kind of regret selling, but hey, that's collecting.  We get in moods sometimes.

Yeah, that's exactly what I really need to do. I could definitely use both the space and the bit of extra money.

Heh, the fear of regretting something I sold off is one of the main reasons why I think I haven't gotten serious about this yet.

Eh, I can It least start small, just find a couple of things I'm willing to part with and go from there. *thumps fist resolutely* ?

Well a disapointing wave in my opinion, I really love wally but this costume isnt a figure I need to have, same goes for starfire, the rest I either have other versions or are just not that intresting to me, we'll see if this is mattel's final offering or if they can manage to pull out one or two more waves after this one before handing things over to mcfarlane.

I think several of the figures that have been coming out and shown are the best Mattel has done since DCUC.  Unfortunately I also think that given how slow the waves have been dripping out there is no way everything we’ve seen thus far is going to make it to retail in full quantities prior to the retail toy isle reset that will happen at the end of the year (at which point there will no longer be DC Mattel item on the planagram thus no new retail orders).  As a result of this I am predicting that either a) several figures shown will get moved to this year’s SDCC item instead of having a standard retail release and/or b) maybe Mattel will release the Kenner wave of Batman figures shown at NYTF as part of a retro Kenner packaging line (similar to Legends Toybiz line) that way that wave will get ordered and stocked separately and not count against the standard multiverse stock at retail.

I will be disappointed if that Black Canary doesn’t find some sort of release somewhere before the license expires.

Why is it that the Marvel figures seem to come out faster and more often than the DC figures? I always see the shelves at my area Walmart’s stocked with Marvel but few if any DC. Very disappointing that the competition can crank out more figures faster than they can.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask but does anyone know if that variant of Ray from wave 10 they showed last year was ever released?  I never saw him.

I have been trying to get a more contemporary Titans lineup for basically my entire life and every line seems to get close but no cigar. Do we know how many waves will be released before Multiverse ends its run. Praying for a Raven.

I'm in crisis mode as far as space for my figures goes and I am constantly thinking about jettisoning the majority of my Toybiz Marvel figures.  But darn it, I like a lot of them to this day.

Being that Mattel lost the DC license, I hope they bring out whatever they had left on the drawing board. At this point, what the hell. They may give the DC essentials a run for their money. Plenty of times these multiverse figures look better than the DC Collectibles.

I get it. Getting rid of some of those old figures was HARD, my Sentinel, my Ketch Ghost Rider, my FF Boxed set (including clear Sue variant). They were all tough to say goodbye to, but part of having a living collection is giving up some stuff every once in a while.

Personally, I'd love to be one of those guys on YouTube with a massive finished basement full of plexiglass display shelves lined with every toy I ever bought/was given, but I'm not that guy.

Totally agree, but Mattel has never been one to put in that extra effort. I don't see that changing now that they've already lost the job.

Me neither, and just watched a video with one of those guys tonight.  If anything it made me want to unload stuff even more.

Also, even though I'm pondering what to get rid of, I know for a fact my BAF Sentinel is going nowhere.

Just make sure and hold on to that resolve. Cause the second one of those figures brings in a massive profit, trust me, it will slip, and that's when those "going nowheres" start disappearing.
