Steven Spielberg once said comic book movies were a flash in the pan genre that would quickly play itself out. At the time I considered this the petulant ranting of a director lashing out at his own lack of relevance.

After seeing this cliche, sexually repressed wanna-be frat-boy garbage project, and others like it, I deeply wish the man had been right.

Seriously, I came into this teaser cold after stumbling upon it on YouTube. I honestly thought it was one of those Funny or Die skits or an over-produced SNL number.

I just cannot get enough Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn — so, this has me pretty stoked.

Gonna go out on a limb and guess when Margot Robbie writes her memoirs, this movie will be covered in the chapter titled "Because My Lawyer Said I Had To."

Despite the fact that it has actors that I like, I'm not really interested in this. I'm also getting the impression that this might be a more Harley Quinn centered project to capitalize on her rise in popularity due to the awful Suicide Squad movie.

I think Margot Robbie was actually kind of bad as Harley Quinn, but I'm willing to put at least 50% of the blame on David Ayer.  What kind of idiot casts an actress who had just proven in the Wolf of Wall Street that she can do a Long Island accent so flawlessly that she fools actual New Yorkers who saw the movie into thinking she was from there (my mother and father, for example) to play a comic book character that speaks with a New York accent and then apparently told her to NOT DO THE ACCENT?

It still staggers the imagination. Even with the undeniable successes of Wonder Woman and Aquaman, DC's modern cinematic record can still best be described as "hit-or-miss" (and that's being generous).

DC/Warner's answer to this problem? Make a glorified porno based on a "B" list property, completely over-hauled to turn it into a vanity piece built around the briefly over-hyped flash-in-the-pan star of their second biggest failure.

I swear, with Marvel turning all their movies/TV shows into poorly executed frat-boy comedies and DC turning all their stuff into "R" rated perv-fests; I'm almost ashamed to have ever been a fan of this genre.

So that new trailer gives me some suicide squad shivers.. even the title looks like the same artist did it. I have no care or interest in this movie.. just like the awful looking Quinn cartoon movie/show coming. Most of DCs stuff lately is just uninspired and not good. Joker has potential but im worried hes become a played out trope.

Ewan McGregor is playing Black Mask and I am 100% certain he will not wear a mask.

Hes Black Mask Figuratively XD Maybe he ll have a bad guy goatee or a super long moustache.

Well, I mean, he's in the trailer, and he doesn't have either.

Yeah, he ll just be standard guy with nothing. I would hope that he gets it eventually and they just dont want to spoil his appearence reveal..

I've been hoping that, too.  Maybe they keep showing clips of the few times he's NOT wearing his mask, but I just have a bad feeling about this movie.  Set photos of Huntress wearing a leather jacket and a chain as some kind of sash didn't help.

Yeah, if its all the same, I'll stick with the old CW series (those words sound so wrong). Sure, the show had issues, especially toward the end when they were begging the network to let them finish out the season and cutting coupons to raise the budget, but it was still a great ride.

And Ian Abercrombe's Alfred bustin' out that shot-gun? Forget Michael Caine!

Yeah....not really looking forward to this at all I barely care about Harley Quinn as a character and I care even less about Margot Robbie's portrayal of the character. This just looks like a Harley Quinn focused project disguised as a Birds Of Prey movie, hopefully at one point in the movie Black Mask turns to the Birds of Prey and says "Hello There" that would salvage the movie a little bit for me.
