Brad The DC Universe Geek Talks with Jason Langston who is a former designer for Mattel's DC Multiverse action figure line.

Too bad he got let go, the waves he worked on are some of the best in a long time. I think the mediocre waves from years before he got there kind of sealed the fate of the line though. I hope Spin Masters is smart and snatches up the former Mattel designers to work on their figure line.

I dont think Spinmaster is going to do adult collector oriented action figures and if they tried I doubt collectors would go for them. Despite what some are saying, there is actually no confirmation Mattel won't continue doing DC Multiverse.

The only loophole I can see is that Multiverse might be called Adult collectibles and not "boy's action" as that category is exclusively the domain of Spinmasters. But I can't see Spinmasters allowing it as part of the deal. You don't want Mattel releasing a comic style Shazam at the same time you are trying to sell your kids line of Shazam movie figures.

Seems like an awfully lucrative revenue stream for Spin Masters to just ignore. I think they'll go for it, and given their track record they'll probably do better with it than Mattel.
