We got a better look at this figure when it was on display during the New York Comic Con in October. Stay-tuned for more images and details to be released soon.

Still looking good, always loved Baraka’s character.

Fun fact - while coming up with new ideas for characters in MK II, designers visited a local costume shop and found a Nosferatu mask that inspired Baraka. They ended up painting it and attaching silver false fingernails to serve as teeth to get the more iconic look.

It was pretty amazing how they just came up with that. Ive always heard that story and thought it was pretty incredible. Gotta love swords for arms. I was always in love with John Tobias' artwork from MK2. It inspired my own artstyle and art growing up. Some of his style rubbed off on me and even incorporate it into my stuff to this day. I was also always a fan of Baraka as what kid didnt like to play as a monster in a video game and shred your opponent up with your arm blades?

I am really looking forward to this one. I hope it turns out great. Its a welcome change from all the Ninjas that they put out. I would have much rather they had spread them out throughout other releases but Im sure those helped fund the new molds to keep making more stuff. Lets just hope this isnt going to be some stupid convention exclusive bs that theyve started to do with their releases as of late. They need to make the GD bloody variants exclusives and sell the regular versions as REGULAR retail versions.
