I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be the same Alita they showed off back at SDCC... The head/face sculpt looks pretty similar. But, the hair looks different, and not in a good way. And the one at SDCC didn’t have the black leather overlay suit. It was just the metallic, cybernetic body chassis. So, I dunno. Looking back to the one from SDCC, I haven’t wanted to get my hands on a Hot Toys figure like that ever. This one is making me second guess myself, quite a bit.

It's mostly the same as what was shown in San Diego, except they've ditched the rooted hair in favor of sculpted hair, and apparently the suit wasn't ready back in July.

I definitely think I prefer the rooted hair look they had going back then... But, maybe that’s just me.

Hot Toys collectors always seem pretty mixed on sculpted vs rooted hair.  I think rooted hair works better for anything longer than shoulder length, and sculpted is better for shorter styles.  The Bat Girl figure still has the rooted hair it had in San Diego, and I'm guessing it'll stay that way.

With that in mind, I’m wondering if there will still be an Alita released with the rooted hair and body armor as they showed at SDCC, as I saw this one listed as Alita Version 2, somewhere, recently. I dunno if that means they’re going to release multiple versions from straight out of the gate, or release one and see how it does, or what kind of feedback they get, before considering potentially releasing the other. I usually can’t afford Hot Toys pieces, so I can only ever really window shop their goods, online. So, I don’t have as much familiarity with when and how they decide to distribute.
