Ghostbusters Select 7" Marshmellow Egon PX Exclusive From DST

A Diamond Select Toys Release! The 1984 horror-comedy classic Ghostbusters is as beloved now as it ever was, and this action figure captures one of its most iconic moments! The most serious and strait-laced of the Ghostbusters, Egon Spengler gets covered with marshmallow in this 7-inch scale action figure inspired by the film's final scenes. This figure features newly sculpted parts and 16 points of articulation, plus alternate hands, proton pack, neutrino wand and display base. Sculpted by Gentle Giant! Look for this to be released in April.

I don't usually buy Diamond Select, but this looks pretty cool to me! I like the cartoony look he's got. I assume this is a variant and there must be a clean version out there. I wouldn't mind having the whole crew in this style.

Is this the same as the TRU exclusives? or is this something completely different?

I love and adore the DST Ghostbusters figures — though, I say that only having gotten the first four, from the first movie, thus far... What I’m really looking forward to are the Real Ghostbusters waves. But, if ever I have the funds, I really want to pick up all of the rest of the figures in the line. Especially Janine from the first movie, and Louis from Ghostbusters II.

I passed on those. I regret a little bit and they are indeed awesome. Maybe who knows I will track them down.

I see some of them listed fairly cheap on Amazon, every once in a while, when I go looking. I don’t know how well that would translate to your area — if you can go through Amazon and such. I think the DST offerings are the best of any GB figure releases, though. Especially if you’re a fan of that movie, I think they’re a great addition to a collection.

At the time i was very focused in some lines. I didn't want to star t another collection. I am a completist, so I would want to buy the whole thing to build the diorama haha.

LOL, I know the feeling... I told myself I’d only ever want to get the four main Ghostbusters themselves. Which is all I currently own. But, as the successive waves have come out, I’ve realized I actually do want a few more of those figures. I’m not really a completionist, but with lines like this one, I end up wanting a lot more than I initially think I will, at the beginning.

The thing is when I first thought that I had like only Marvel Selects. My plan was to stick to it, but now I have like 7 parallel collections from 7 different lines or manufacturers

I try to stick primarily to Star Wars Black Series, Marvel Legends and DC Multiverse, as those are the ones most closely falling into my monthly budget. Either that or the most affordable Japanese ‘prize figures’ I may want. Everything else is usually a little more of a niche that I have to really debate whether or not I can, or want to, spend the money on. So, it’s tough. But, what can ya do?

Yeah I understand. To me it all started with Marvel Selects.  Then I decided that I wanted to have some Black seires of my favorite characters.  Then I bought the Neca Terminator figures. Now I also have some SHF, Mezco, BTAS from DC Collectibles, other Neca movie and game figures and some marvel legends.

And down the rabbit hole we go, lol.

Nah..I will probably stick to the ones I have. At least the lines.  I really want to complete my armor collection and have some BTAS figures that are essential to the collection.

Another goal of mine as a BAtman fan is to have all iterations of Batman, so I maybe will get the Revo one, but only if I get a custom cape. Right now I have the Mezco figures in mind. Ascending Knight and Sovereign Knight. Those are essential for me to have.

Seriously, if I could afford I would have only Mezco and SHF.

Yea, they really are producing some really high quality, amazing looking pieces. I’d absolutely expand my collection with them, if I could afford ‘em, as well.
