Ever since my first encounter with Star Tours, in the then, Disney’s MGM Studios, circa early 90s, I was captivated by the two clear-domed astromechs you would see in the opening queue line. And, ever since, I have always scoured all of the Star Wars movies to see if I could pinpoint other clear-domed droids, in them. This being largely before the internet, and scores of blogs and encyclopedias categorizing every single nut and bolt that flashes on screen for mere seconds. So, it was largely to little avail for me, back then. And while this droid isn’t strictly transparent, I really dig that you can still see hints of his inner workings. He looks like he should glow in the dark too, which would be a whole other level of awesomesauce.
