Learned from Kaiju Battle’s Facebook page that some of the Godzilla figures from Playmates have been found in stores. If the images are genuine, it is horrible news for Godzilla fans. The figures are horrendous. They appear to be reused Bandai sculpts with less detail and awful paint apps. I have seen knock-offs with better quality.

Far as I know these figures are from Bandai America not playmates and to be frank you can't ask much to Bandai America, so for that price I guess they're fine.

They were originally from Bandai America, but Playmates recently acquired the rights. Reportedly, these are the Playmate versions. Looks like they got the molds too. The vinyls were never as detailed as the more collector oriented figures, but the paint apps were never this bad. Some additional pics provided by Kaiju Battle below.

Oh, I see, being honest I hadn't heard that the license had already changed company, I guess there won't be much difference compared to what Bandai offered but that Kong looks nice. It hurts that these figures are not going to be carried to my country.

LOL, thats because there has been no word of that happening. Are these in the US or somewhere else, does anyone know? I've reached out to Playmates to see if they can shed any light on this but with the Holidays upon us not sure when I might hear back

From what I’ve read, they appear to be in US stores, not sure the exact location. Skreeonk.com shared an article that provided a little more info. Link: https://toy-wizards.com/2019/12/23/everyone-is-crying-looking-at-playmates-new-godzilla-toys/

I realize this line is intended for kids, but they look horrible by any standard.

Kaiju Battle shared some comparison photos that show just how bad these Playmates figures are compared to previous releases.

Thks, I will wait till I get more details from Playmates. This doesnt look like a case of one company getting the license from another. This looks like where two companies are working together cause one maybe has better distribution channels or such putting out a cheaper version of the same thing. I've seen this type of thing before. I remember back in the day when Jazwares put out cheap versions of the Sota Toys Street fighter figures that saw release at KB stores. If this was an actual case of one company taking over a license from another I doubt they would be releasing the same product with same packaging.

Understood, that makes more sense. All my info is coming from the fan sites, but it will be nice to have insight straight from the source. I remember those Jazzware Street Fighters. They were definitely lower in detail/articulation/accessories and not intended for collectors, but they were a decent toy line for kids. These offerings from Playmates are just sad. I hope the price reflects their efforts. Lanyard could’ve done a much better job. Their K:SI and Rampage figures were far superior to what Playmates has put out so far.

NECA continues to repackage its previous Godzilla figures in new boxes featuring the movie posters and has posted more images of Shin Godzilla’s box art via their Facebook page. Both versions are scheduled for release early this year.

Sen-Ti-Den  - Marvel Fighting Armor Figures

These appear to be Marvel characters sporting Iron Man armor.

Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Iron Spider, and Deadpool.   I got a reply from Sentinel saying these figures will be 16cm tall (6.29").

Source: TagHobby - https://www.taghobby.com/archives/467896   About 1/3 page down to see all the pics.

Ok, this news is already a few weeks old, but I don't remember seeing it here, it's about the 6.5 ” Halo collection from Jazwares, called the Spartan Collection, it seems the figures are in pre-order only at Gamestop at the moment and will be released in October. I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised to see the potential of Jazwares, this collection is not of my interest but in the future they may get a license of my interest.

you probaly shouldnt advertise for a site thats not a sponsor here.

Nothing in the guidelines against this post. That being said I had already seen it and dont really consider it newsworthy enough for the front page. This is marketing at its best slapping a nostalgia 80's toyline on a bunch of little rubber figures. The coolest thing here is the boxart.  If Mattel launches an actual new Dino-Riders action figure line then LMK.

maybe this is the test to get interest up and get us talking about the line. their jurassic world stuff is amazing, so making the dinos wont be an issue, easy repaints of pre-existing molds, they just have to make the harnesses and figures.

I can certainly see in a year, Mattel launching a line of Dino Riders figures. Right now their focus is MOTU so is just a matter of time till they relaunch this line...✌️😀

I know the stuff from Jurassic Park/world is not much commented here and the news already has about a week that it came out but I know there are a couple of people who will find it worth commenting so Jurassic World Amber collection Echo velociraptor figure.

Delta is available too. I haven't found either, and it's killing me how unannounced these figures are... but yeah, I'm looking for them :)

well echo technically isnt out in the US yet, but delta you can get from amazon, theyve had her since 3rd week of sept, $27, great price too. target also has her in store and online for $30.

love these, glad theyve made echo, cant see them not making tlw raptors and the female from jp3 either. its just repainting. tlw raptors will be especially smart since its never stated just how many raptors there were. like the 1st movie, we know there was 3 so alot of people arent buying more than that. if they make raptors from the 2nd one though...lets just say itll be a fairly large pack i put on display.

I'm in MX, so they take a bit longer to arrive here :( Still, it's a great line and I can't wait for all the things they put out!

Looks like the images came from Target, says sold out so looks like it has seen a limited release here in the US at least. https://www.target.com/p/jurassic-world-amber-collection-echo/-/A-79812818.

As for coverage, yeah Mattel really does nothing to promote this line or put info out about it.

Pricey indeed, in other stores the dinos are priced $35 bucks, here in Mexico Amazon is charging like $50 for the JP raptor, a little exaggerated to be basically repaints with a single accessory, the dilophosaurus was OK 'cause it comes with more stuff, I like it but it's kinda hard for me to step into this line.

Charlie, Blue y el Dilophosaurus están entre 598-672. No están tan caros. TAN. El original si está arriba de 1000, que se me hace una mamada. Pero el humano que si están vendiendo (nedry) está en 500... que es el precio estándar para la escala. Hasta más barato que en EEUU. No sabía que tú también eras mexa! Saludos!
