I love, love, love The Nightmare Before Christmas... But I’ve never been a hound for product based on the movie. A long time ago, I picked up a Jack and Sally that I think were made by McFarlane Toys, and that’s really been all I ever needed. That being said, looking at this piece, I feel like the Nendoroid style, the way it breaks up the proportions, doesn’t quite work that well. I think the body works well enough, but the oversized head — which I know to be a Nendoroid staple — throws me off.

DST offers a lot of product from this franchise, I don't know if you know.

Some figures work very well for this style. Like that Deadpool one I was tempted to buy, but giving my budget I had to pass. The Mickey, however is a whole different deal and I hope that they make the other characters.

For Jack, the DST design is more like the character in the movie.

I’ve seen a few of DST’s offerings from ‘Nightmare’, and I like what I’ve seen quite a bit. I’ve yet to actually pick any of them up though, as other stuff usually takes precedence, for me.

I know exactly what are you saying. We just can't have it all.  I have a huge list of figures that I would like to collect, but I think about the size of the investment and the space that I have available which is very limited.

Yea, exactly... Between the lack of funds, and the lack of space for a lot of stuff, it can be pretty monotonous at times. I only just realized recently that my chief storage closet in my apartment has no room left in it for anything else. So, my last few figure purchases are now strategically placed around my bedroom, until I can figure out some other alternative, lol.

They did a really nice job with that open mouth headsculpt. The teeth and mouth look really good. It's kind of a shame he doesn't have a few more heads with more open mouth expressions. The way they sculpted his stomach also makes it look like he has a bit of a pooch in some shots, but maybe it's just the poses. I like that they added Zero too!

It’s just a closet. If I took out the shelves, it’s just big enough that I could walk into it and shut the door. Standing room only.

I see. even then is much more space that I have. I have one display that is almost packed and I have no other place to put figures. I am not gonna leave them in boxes.

If I didn’t have mine stored away in boxes and such, I wouldn’t be able to collect anything at all, sadly... I only have a few pieces actively on display, for the same reasons that you list. And it sucks, because I want to be able to see and interact with my modest collection, as much as possible. But, I’m barely afforded the chance.

I have a friend that never takes anything out of the box. HE has a whole room of figures. Like shelves of Marvel Selects. He has almost every single release except for the Disney Store exclusives. HE keeps them as books  The Hot Toys are still on the mailing boxes. Which is dumb because how does he knows if they aren't damaged or missing any pieces? I tried to convince him to hire someone to build him a display case, but he refuses and says that he rather spend money with figures than build a nice display space for them. I find that highly unreasonable. The way most collectibles are stored, mostly the hot toys, they will degrade.

Well, I may be wrong, but that is what I think. If you want to collect something, you will want to be able to appreciate it. Look at it from time to time and maybe show it to people. Also, if you separate a nice place to put your collection it shows that you really cares about it and are not just one of those accumulators.

I definitely agree with this sentiment... Which is why I’ll air out my own collection from time to time, so as to check on them, and appreciate them. Sharing a small, two bedroom apartment, there just isn’t much room for shelf space, even if I had the funds to purchase, or build, one. But, I’m also constantly working it out in my head; Like, what can be gotten rid of, if anything, to make room for a display case, or shelves. It’s a lot harder than you’d expect. But, that’s the long term plan, for me. I want my stuff out and on display. But, I also want to make sure whatever kind of avenue I go down to do that, offers up an enclosed display space, so dusting and upkeep only needs to be at a minimum.

I also live in a two bedroom, but one was converted into a home office.  my wife and I commissioned  a furniture piece that has a desk for two, cabinets. bookshelves and she let me design an integrated display with glass shelves and lights on top. The doors are made of aluminum and glass. the rest is made of MDP.

Sounds pretty cool... I’m assuming that is chiefly where you display some, or all, of your collection?
