Warner Bros. Television has announced that actress Jennifer Beals will be joining the cast of Swamp Thing as Sheriff Lucilia Cable.

The character of Cable is an original character created for the series and is described as tough as nails and pragmatic.  She has a fierce devotion to her son, Matt, is rivaled only by her sworn duty to serve and protect the town of Marais. As the community she has dedicated her life to defending is beset by strange forces, Lucilia must double down in her efforts to safeguard everyone she holds dear.

Man, I had such a crush on her, back in the day... It’s good to see that she’s still active, and going to be a part of this series. I’d say that I’m tentatively curious about it. I remember the Swamp Thing movies and former tv show, which I was only ever loosely interested in. We’ll see how this one goes.

I am all for new comic inspired shows.  I hope that they get it right and do't eat more that they can chew. It's a huge investment to be lost.
