Is it strange that I don't get the interest in the Muppets ?

Most properties I can understand the appeal with this I just don't get it.

Yea, I’m surprised The Muppets is as big a property as it is with collectors too, but I guess the love for Henson goes deep.

Oh man, who can forget Animal’s raving lunacy at seeing an exceptional looking lady; ‘Woman, woman, woman!!!’

He was a Muppet after my own heart.

It’s just like anything else... People grew up with it, and continue to have a fondness and nostalgia for it. Even if it isn’t your bag, it still is a lot of folks’. While I’m not bang on crazy for ‘em, I still mad dig ‘em, going back to my childhood, with things like The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock and Sesame Street.

You're right, nostalgia is reigns king in the collecting community.

That’s what has most often fueled my own pick ups and purchases, for sure. Although, I tend to lean toward modern equivalents of stuff I once owned and yet have nostalgia for, more often than not.

When was the last time any toys were made of the Muppet Babies? I'm surprised that has not made a comeback yet.

Not a bad idea... I have fond, albeit vague, memories of that show, growing up.

I don';t recall ever seeing muppet babies toys. Can't even remember general merchandise.

I just Googled them to refresh my memory and I found these (pictured below) and remember them because my brother had some.  I'm not positive but I'm thinking either these pictured or some other kind came with Happy Meals.

Looks like there was a few other lines of smaller figures and some plush stuff made at some time.

I’m almost positive that my sis and I had a couple of these when we were kids, as well. They could definitely benefit from a modern figure update.

All this talk about wondering why people still like the Muppets when the real question should be why do people like statue busts? I'll never understand why people will pay around the same price for half a statue verses a little more for the whole thing.

Ain't that the truth. I can understand enjoying dynamic statues but a bust ? I see no appeal
