You hit the nail on the head.

If they could produce a realistic splash pattern on the figure I would be more inclined to not stick with the clean version.

Same here, I'd even pay more for alternate hands, arms, clothing, etc if the blood was more detailed.

I'm good with the clean version and just limit the bloody versions. What was the Scorpion and Sub-Zero 1 for every 10 clean ?

I want to know if anyone actually prefers the bloody versions over the clean.

Maybe less people preferring and more double dippers or completionists ?

Must be. Its hard for me to believe that anyone could justify buying both versions though, regardless of how loaded they might be.

Maybe if they are a huge fan and don't collect allot of lines.

I've seen forced collectors buy 3-4 of a identical figure when they only collect one line of action figures.

That must be nice to only collect a single toy line. I'm at the point where I can barely afford my preorders that come in stock for the week, its been months since I've actually had spare cash to just buy some random thing I see online or at a store ?.

Must be nice. I'm constantly adding or subtracting various lines.

I only collect Marvel Legends, Storm Collectibles and miscellaneous video game based property figures. I dont have alot of cash flow tho so I have to be very picky with my choices. Its kind of hard tho with some of Storms stuff. I also prefer the vanilla versions of MK characters. The blood doesnt bother me as it fits their motif and the application is more of a bloody wash than an actual simulation of blood splats. They are essentially battle damaged versions. That at least works with the whole idea of them battling eachother to the death. I just wish theyd include more gore/fatality accessories. The Sub zero bloody skull and spinal cord work great for Reptiles fatality as well as Subbys. So having a bloodied up version of a character when they are having a fatality performed on them is neat but not the preferred. It is till baffling that they are selling the variant versions as regular retail and the regular versions as con exclusives.. this crap better not become a norm for them. Its bad enough that too many major characters are friggin con exclusives and higher jacked up prices.

Marvel Legends is the only line being sold at retail currently I collect.

I prefer Video games to movies. So allot of the properties I collect are game related.

Ahh ok. Maybe it was how I read it, but I wasnt sure how to take what you said initially.  Im also a big fighting game fan and there usually isnt many figure releases for those very often. A reason ive become obsessed with Storm since they have a lot of fighting game licenses. Some of which I never thought I would see a figure of, let alone have essentially definitive versions of said figure versions.

Exactly, I've always been a huge Mortal Kombat fan but every toy line seemed to end before they could even get to the core characters but it seems there might be hope with Storm if they can figure out how to do the female sculpts without being too bulky then we'll be set.

Well one thing that sucks is most of the MK and even some street fighter figures (looking at you jazzwares) were absolute ass. SOTA made some incredible Street Fighter figs and they have been the definitive versions. I think it was Jazzwares that even did the old MK figs that were last made... they did like multi packs with like the MK3 design ninjas and the Cybers and stuff like that but they were 3.75 in versions.. and they kind of looked like butt. Storms stuff is actually in 6 in scale and are fully articulated and fit well with any street fighter or marvel legends figures. From what I had seen in the comic con images, I hope they are reworking those female ninja body molds... they have a case of serious birthing hips. ? So far Storm is on a roll with their figures so hopefully that doesnt let up.

Mezco did a few MKX 6 inch figures that were pretty good, I especially liked the Kitana but they ended the line pretty quickly and switched to the clothed figures.

Oh thats right I forgot about those. They didnt look too bad just not amazing. They didnt cover alot of characters. I was hoping for some of my favorites in there. Also if Im not mistaken, they didnt have alot of articulation? They had alot of promise. I wanted the Kitana but after I saw it in person and I think the price wasnt great, I was disappointed and passed on her.

I can't remember offhand but I think the articulation was decent and you can get the whole wave on BBTS for $39.99 which is Kitana, Quan Chi, and Kotal Khan.

Yeah the first wave was sub zero, scorpion and raiden. I remember they had very squinty eyes. After I looked them up, I remember I didnt like how they were articulated and their paint apps on the ones I saw in store.

Wow was that the same company? I remember those had pretty terrible paint apps and felt very cheap, I just got my Kitana out and she seems pretty sturdy, kind of like the quality of new Mcfarlane stuff.

Yep, same company, just the first wave of that series that Kitana is from.

Wow they made a lot of improvements in such a short time.

Also, is there any news of clean versions of Smoke and Rain coming out?

Apparently not enough improvements since the series didnt continue after that wave. And yeah Clean Smoke and Rain are NYCC exclusives... which is the dumbest thing ever. We get the bloody versions as regular versions.. You can bet the clean versions will be on BBTS but they ll be $80- $90. dumb af.

Oh I meant Mezco sure has improved since then in regards to figure quality. And damn I hadn't heard about that. I got a notification that the bloody versions were going to be available soon but I honestly would rather wait for the clean versions even if they were more but I agree thats horrible, would have been better to just release an entirely new character as an exclusive, this is just pissing off their fan base.

Mezco ether had no plans to continue the line or the character selection of the 2nd wave did it in. It's saying allot the BBTS still has the 2nd wave available.
