Henry Cavill has been cast as the lead of Netflix's The Witcher saga, playing the role of Geralt of Rivia.  The 8 episode series is based on the best-selling fantasy series of the epic tale of fate and family.  Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Alik Sakharov, Charlotte Brändström and Alex Garcia Lopez to direct the series from showrunner and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.  Sakahrov will also executive produce.

When I saw this I got very excited since he is perfect for the role!  It's very cool when higher profile actors jump in things like this. Makes is more expensive and risky, but might pay off.

I'm looking forward to seeing who they cast to play Ciri, Yennifer and Triss.

And Roach better show up on a roof at least once.
