Variety reports Matt Smith (Doctor Who, The Crown) has been cast in a 'key role' for Star Wars: Episode 9. This follows the recent announcement of Dominic Monaghan joining the cast, as well as, the official announcement of new and returning cast members. The film is scheduled to be released December 2019.
