Warner Bros. And DC Developing 'Supergirl' Feature Film

Recommended Posts

Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. and DC are developing a feature film based around Supergirl, the heroine and cousin of Superman.  Not a lot of information is being divulged at this point, except Oren Uziel is working on the script.

According to DC mythology, the character was a teen when she escaped the doomed planet Krypton along with the infant who grew up as Clark Kent.

As for Superman, It is unclear whether he will be making an appearance but Warner Bros and DC Entertainment are looking to create a new template for future Superman movies, this would seem a likely place to hatch a new persona.

Kinda torn on this one. IMHO, Missy B. does for Supergirl what Lynda Carter did for Wonder Woman.

On the same token, the idea of a Supergirl not tainted by Greg Berlanti fills my heart with hope.

If they go the same path as the TV show (which I highly doubt) this movie is doomed.

But again, It's WB and theya re still plaaning on that New Gods with that lousy director so you never know

I’m always on board for a Supergirl movie... And, much as I love Melissa Benoist, I couldn’t really get into the television series. So, hopefully they either break off from that entirely, and make the movie its own thing, or cast her, but it’s completely unrelated.

Nah, WB is REAL anal about keeping their movie and TV departments separate. I'm actually good with that. Don't want the show ham-strung by what the movie does, nor do I want the movie in the same position with the show.

That being said, watch for the inevitable backlash over the movie NOT casting Melissa.
