That’s an interesting question... As somebody who’s had a hard time finding, let alone owning, most Trooper figures, I’ve always been grateful for the few I have found on store shelves. Which comprises six inch samples of one regular Stormtrooper, a Captain Phasma, and a Commander Cody. None of which are ‘worn’. I think the market is probably pretty flush with clean representations of such figures. So, maybe now’s the time to start scuffing some of them up. But then, for folks who are consummate figure customizers, maybe they’d prefer to age and wear down their newly bought Troopers, themselves? I don’t think I could say, especially as this relates to 3 3/4 figures, which I don’t really dabble in.

They could just do both? lol

They probably could... But, I supposed that the point of asking was maybe because they’d prefer to focus the costs of producing both, to whichever is more preferred by collectors and fans.

I must say, Hasbro weathering has not been that good for the most part. Only recently did they start churning out some well-made weathering (say, the dewback-riding sandtrooper). But then again, the 3.75" scale is not my collecting focus, either.
