I'm about to do a major shelving over hall this year. These cheap book cases are just too dark and make it hard to see all the figures.

Oh yeah! Collection pics, baby! I love it! I have a soft spot for those 90's Toy Biz X-Men and unfortunately I have no real place to display mine. I have almost all of my vintage turtles displayed along with that sewer playset. I gotta get some pics going....

Ahh, I remember my action figure displays. Now that I'm dead-heading with relatives, all my figures are in cardboard boxes crammed into a tiny storage room with 70% of my clothes and a $300+ big screen.

 

But I'm not bitter. . . @$%&!!!

Welcome... love the displays, and I agree, I hate dark bookshelves. I've been slowly changing over my shelving and replacing the shelves with clear acrylic shelves. I believe you can also find glass shelves for bookshelves. I got the idea from my friend and even did that to my wife's bookshelves we got from IKEA, we bought a handful of class shelves and replaced some. The glass or acrylic lets the light through, so it doesn't seem as dark.

Between the two, I'd go acrylic. I've had some bad experiences with plate-glass shelving.

My hubby and I are collectors as well, but are staying with the in-laws so just about everything we own is in the basement. I can't wait to have a place to display all our stuff...
