I've been thinking of making a custom Black Manta (modern ver.) using Marvel Legend parts for quite some time now, but I cannot for the life of me remember which MLs have used the Bucky Cap sculpt while having pre-molded black parts. I've decided on this to eliminate the issue of needing to thoroughly paint within the joints of the figure and so there's less likelihood for the paint to rub off. Specifically, one of the most crucial parts being that I need black gripping hands from a Bucky Cap mold in order for my Manta to be able to hold his weapons.

Can anyone please help me? Does anyone have a list of all the existing MLs that use the Bucky Cap sculpt?

@Belmont3: Oh wow, thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed! Also thanks for including little details such as any new sculpts introduced for ever respective figure.

I'd recommend getting the Havok from the new X-Men wave. He's almost all black and he's pretty readily available so you won't be spending a fortune on him.

Checking it out (and from the list that Belmont3 provided), yeah so far Havok or Black Bolt seem like my best bet.

I'm actually waiting on amazon to start dropping the price on Havok so I can pick up a few, I have a Shadowland DD, 90s armored DD and Union Jack customs planned which would be easy on those bodies.

Ohh Shadowland DD would be nice and yeah, I can see how easy it would be to make all of them using Havok as the base.

I can do you one better, snag some Bulldog Adhesion promoter from O'Reilly's auto parts store. Prime the figure with that and use Testors Aztek Arbrus black paint. (use the bulldog in a wel ventilated are) the paint wont rub for anything.

Thanks for the Advice, I have two Machine Man figures that I could use as base body, I'll be implementing this idea.

Oh damn, that sounds really useful. I'll give it a shot sometime if I ever need to paint hand parts.

It's funny how I started this thread about the Bucky Cap mold for the sake of my modern Black Manta custom, but as of recent, I actually ended up using a different ML body instead.

Still, I'm glad I asked about this since it actually yielded some useful info that I'm sure would prove useful for me and others in the long run.
