Software arbitrage - new way for scalpers to scalp items?

While I was waiting in line for the grand opening of the Lego Store in San Francisco, I was browsing my facebook feeds and came across an article a facebook friend who specializes in collecting 1/6 figures linked. The article, which I will link below this paragraph, is about sellers (called arbitrages) who uses a software called DsDomination, which is a "get rich quick" schemes to sell items to ebay by buying it on amazon for a low cost and then gifting that item to the ebay buyer. Upon reading the article, it now made sense to me why my recent item (Beast Saga starter set) was shipped by Amazon, yet I bought it on ebay. I then checked the prices between the item I bought on ebay and amazon and noticed a $4.50 difference. The item was even shipped by a different seller - it was shipped by the amazon seller. I also noticed the box contained a gift receipt.

I then did a search on arbitrage and saw this youtube link where people were going to Walmart to buy so that they can resell it for more online - it is basically scalping but with a different name:

Even though I would use Amazon before I make a purchase on ebay, I don't do it all the time before I tend to find items on ebay cheaper than it is on Amazon and I usually buy older figures on ebay for obvious reasons, Because of this incident, even older figures aren't safe. Going forward, for buy-it-now items that aren't from China, I will check Amazon to make sure that I item I am purchasing on ebay is cheaper than on Amazon.

Here is the article in question. Please check it out as it is very informative!

Wow... and what's worse, I swear whenever I look at somethingon Amazon, I get an email the next day on how it's the deal of the day, lol... so if things go down in price any, then the jerks make even more!

I like how that one guy took the approach of raising his prices and then they called and asked him to stop, lol.
