So far so good. Two nice looking figures.

Make that 3

IRON GRENADIER COURIER: DARKLON

(Based on the classic 1989 action figure!)

Includes: removable harness, scabbard belt with sword, re-tooled projectile rifle, auto pistol, courier case, pistol, and figure stand.

my only thoughts are what does Croc Master wear when he goes to Mardi Gras?.....Thigh High raver boots were not in my imaginings.....Darklon looks like he's ready to hit some Raves & end his night by carrying out an ritual sacrifice of some unwitting teens who's car broke down near the Bass Pro Shop....his mask tells me that he's single......ladies! & maybe sporting some sort of service related scarring of the face.....that means he's possibly getting rich off of disability & getting paid under the table by Cobra & you get to jump to the front of the line at Disney Land when you long term date this red eyed badarse...

EGADs!

FSS5BCviperWEB.jpg

The team who first created this Cobra Viper had just attended an Prince concert.......I believe Cobra had acquired majority of stock of Crown Royal at the time....the CR company had an over surplus of those little Crown Royal bags.....the material was just going to waste & Cobra was cash poor at that time....so Cobra Commander ordered that his new legion of Cobra Vipers go into battle clad in the finest material available.....this wasn't the 1st time Cobra did this....they had previously owned Hot Topic & had outfitted the entire "DreadNok" unit in their clothing......the DN's morale improved but they started wearing earings & using handbags....along w/their ripped tiger clothing prints....this did not sit well w/Destro....

Even though it doesn't really look like the source figure besides the colors, I actually like it more than the vintage one.

if only they could have used the old comic pack hat

here is the next one

I like this fig........it's not w/out it's charms.....however.......his look, particularly his face reminds me of "The Hamburglar"....who's fallen on hard times so he took his stuffed falcon out of storage & did some serious dumpster diving out back at World of Parrots to build his costume....his face seems to resemble an elderly man whose sagging gumline betrays that he forgot to put his dentures in or Snake Eyes is currently wearing them as a necklace, celebrating his last as$whooping on a Cobra Specialist....his toned physique looks more of one who's slowly starving as opposed to one who exercises regularly....I believe I've heard that Raptor subsists off of Bugs, Spiders, Roadkill & he was caught licking the crushed bugs off of the "Thunder Machine" so he's not allowed at DreadNok functions anymore....true story....my sister is friends w/a girl who has a cousin that's been recruited by the Noks...

Scoop looks nice. Too bad his helmet is sculpted on. At least I can find a replacement head and then use the original helmet.

Sneek Peak will be up sometime Monday.

Nothing too exciting just the same as Tiger Force version in classic colors.

True, but at least they're doing him in classic colors. I still don't understand why the club chose to make a foreign repaint first when there were two better looking US versions.

Scoop looks great. My favorite so far.

I actually like this one. Can't believe they're actually making an updated Sneak Peek and his ginormous periscope thingie.

The last few are pure win! I'm sure everyone is thinking Tomax is figure #13. I know it's almost a given but wouldn't it be nice if it wasn't and they gave you Tomax some other way, a vehicle pack-in or something? I dunno, maybe it'd be best if he was #13, lol.

As a reminder, GIJCC members that order and complete the FSS 5.0 subscription will receive a bonus carded 13th mystery figure with their sixth shipment. Although this bonus figure will remain a mystery until the final shipment, we wanted to follow tradition and post a couple hints. This exciting figure will be another great addition to your modern era collection:

- It will be a Female figure!

- Highly requested G.I. Joe team member!

Make sure to get your subscription before the deadline on Sept. 2nd, 2016!

Personally I'm hoping for Firewall but that's a) a long shot and B) questionable as to how well she could be done without new tooling that just doesn't seem likely to get at this stage. I'd be happy with Mayday, but if GI Jane is the choice we end up with, it'll be intersting to see what sort of outfit she ends up in. I can't see the SDI Director outfit being translatable with the current library of parts, so I guess we'd end up with a remake of the Viper Lockdown version, though hopefully with something more to distinguish her from another Renegades Scarlett repaint ala Bombstrike and Retaliation Lady Jaye.
