Highlights From The JoeCon 2016 Hasbro Panel

There's actually some stuff here that's got my interest: Shooter and female Cobra Officer for starters. I also have high hopes for Falcon. Hopefully he's using the Slaughter's Marauders mold with more traditional Falcon colors. Looking forward to seeing pics.

It's the time of year every Joe fan lives for: The "repaint a couple of figures and throw them a bone" time! We'll take what we can get.

Y'know Joe, you're absolutely right...and it's a little sad. (lol)

I can't believe we're getting a Heavy Duty with that Retaliation Roadblock mold before a traditional Roadblock. (sigh) Oh well...

Seeing what they have to offer, I'll say I'm a little more excited for this year than I was last year.

The two all new characters, Tombstone and Stiletto, aren't doing too much for me, the Falcon looks a lot more boring than I was hoping for (mostly black..yawn), I have no use for zombies in my Joe collection (bought one 30th Zombie Viper and kept it MOC just so I can say I have a complete set) and you have your standard issue Snake Eyes/Stormshadow set (although it's great that they're giving fans another shot at that HTF Renegades Stormshadow).

That said, I'll take as many of those Viper/IG sets as I can get. Shooter and female Cobra look great as well.

I put my Joe fandom to bed a while back, only to hover indifferently around some of the recent TRU sets.

But I admit, seeing the pix of what's coming has put me over the top. I'm back on board. Guess I'll be hunting these down along with everything else.

(I'm such a Toy-Whore.)

Hee-hee...

Well, I took a look at the official images, and they're starting to seem more interesting to me. For one, I didn't know Outback was coming...he's one of my favorite characters, so I'm completely on board for him. Second, I love seeing new characters being introduced. As much as I love some of the old mainstays, it gets a little boring seeing some of the same old characters rehashed over and over and over again. And finally, I love having another shot at that Viper mold.

So, when Joes were thick on the shelves, they tell us we don't need female characters because they don't sell. Now, when they're scarce, and the collectors are fighting over scraps, they give us two new female characters, and female Cobra soldiers. Perplexing.

I will try to get most of these sets. Vipers and IG's to build my forces. Zombies for the same reason. I actually like the Heavy Duty figure, and of course the new Stiletto. Tombstone looks a bit meh, but I think I could jazz him up with my own back story for him and maybe an accessories swap. Don't really care about Outback since I've got two other versions of him, but Falcon will be an improvement over the SM one I have, even if he seems more fitted for night ops with all that black. I really want Shooter. I think they did a good job putting her together, and those accessories are pretty awesome.

Overall, Hasbro is going to get my money. Hopefully I can nab them before everyone else here and sell/trade off the ones I don't want.
