Custom Palooza Custom Figure Contest Entry:

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

Supreme Leader Snoke custom figure w/ throne chair

(22in tall x 23 in long x 18 in wide)

by Call-it Customs & Kollectibles

So heres my contest entry of my custom Snoke figure that I wanted to make to scale to work with the 6" inch black series figures. (I just went off of guessing size so sorry to all the precise scale people, I know theres some inaccuracies) And ultimately I think it came out awesome. Inspired by the most recent large scale black series Tie Fighter, I wanted to make something that could be large and bold, but could also fit perfectly with any action figure collection. I also wanted some functionality out of its huge scale, so even though I looked at pictures online and the throne may not be 100% movie accurate, I made several platform spaces so that way it allows room to display other action figures with it, completely displaying it's scale comparison.

HOW IT WAS MADE:

TIME to MAKE: About 3-4 weeks

So this is by far the biggest custom I've ever made. I knew I didn't want it to weigh too much so I started with the throne and how to make it light weight.

The throne weighs probably no more than 5 lbs. It was made out of foamboard, them covered with a glue/plaster mixture and painted with acrylic paints. I added some classic looking SW light panels which are made of resin plastic because originally after finishing the throne, the grey just needed something more. The throne also has a movable bridge and speaking platform made from wood and foam-board, so if you had enough space, you could really make a large throne display.

After the throne, I started working on Snoke, which again, I wanted to weigh as little as possible. He probably weighs about 3-4 lbs, not much. Luckily most of his body is hollow or non-existent and is covered up with fabric. He virtually has no legs, his feet are like shoes hiding underneath his robe, which allow for custom posing. They would make great paper-weights in other uses. From the waist up, inside the chest, underneath more fabric and foam hides a 12" GIJOE doll that was just used for the ball joint in his neck, making Snoke's head articulated for custom posing. The Snoke head is an original sculpt from myself and was sculpted with Apoxie and layer painted with acrylics (better, closer photos available @ facebook.com/cicustoms) as well as each of his hands. His arms are made with bendy wire and wrapped with foam so they are adjustable, although the current pose seems to be the best. ( A dismantled photo below shows all the parts mentioned) I wanted to complete this in-time for the contest, but if I continued, I'd probably give him a cone for legs, (The robe hides the cone, so it looks like he's standing with actual legs) allowing to pose him as standing along with other hand sculpts, as his hands are currently removable/ interchangeable.

So ultimately, I love how it came out. The scale works with most if not all figures, including the 3.75" line which makes him even more larger and menacing. Hopefully I covered everything, if anyone has any additional questions, please post below or message me on facebook.com/cicustoms. Thanks everyone for looking!
