I don't know if anyone else here has been following the news on this horrible proposed merger. If this merger went through comcast would control 33% of the US internet access. How is that in any way pro consumer?

The crooks in comcast tried to rationalize this deal by saying it would be fair because they don't compete with Time Warner Cable directly. Not competing with TWC in the first place is anti consumer. Prices go down because of competition. These backroom deals where a cable company controls an entire area is not capitalism it is a monopoly.

I'm glad to see the government step in and do something good for a change. F#CK comcast!!

I agree with you, Rockzilla. Unfortunately the US has turned pro-monopoly over the last decade or two, and this will probably happen anyway. And it's always hidden under the guise of "better for the consumer" because of promises to not raise rates for a year or some other amount of ridiculousness. The further we go in the opposite direction, the harder it is to come back. But as you say, competition keeps prices in check. That's always been the case. I'm glad this failed.
