X-Men: Apocalypse

I agree with most of what u said, Joe. It was overlong, and Apocalypse's plan was kinda muddled, but its nowhere near as bad or deserving of its Tomatometer score (unlike BvS). It's no X2 or DoFP, but its also no X3 or Wolverine Origins. It may just be rehashing an idea on a grander scale, but the Quicksilver scene is worth the price of admission (suck it, Kick-Ass.) Jennifer Lawrence was not as center stage as the marketing would have us believe... still... was hoping Apocalypse would finish her off. The character has gone as far as needed, and its getting crowded... not to mention money better spent elsewhere.

Just watched this movie last night and have to say I was pretty disappointed overall. I loved First Class and Days Of Future Past, but there was just something about this movie that made it feel subpar.

Aside from Magneto (big props to Fassbender for once again doing an excellent job), I just didn't care about or feel for any of the characters.

Angel, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, and Storm all had little to no characterization, or reason to care about them. Part of what has always made X-Men so great is the personal struggles of each individual character. All the movie gives us in regards to these four is Angel is a dude with wings, Nightcrawler has blue skin, can teleport and prays, Psylocke has a sword and purple energy blade, and Storm can control the weather. That's ALL these characters add. It could have been any other character in these rolls and it wouldn't have affected the movie in the least.

Scott and Jean are touched on a bit more, but again, I never really felt connected with the characters.

I was also let down that Angel's transformation into Archangel only had his wings turn to metal. I was really hoping to see the iconic blue skin and blue and pink outfit.

Many of the special effects towards the end of the movie all looked very cheaply done as well.

Sadly, I probably won't give this movie a second view. I had very high hopes for it after the previous two movies, but, in my opinion, this one just didn't deliver.

Definitely not as good as First Class and DOFP, but I won't lie in saying that I still enjoyed this and I absolutely loved how hammy Apocalypse was. I do hope they release an extended cut for this, similar to the Rogue Cut. More of the younger X-Men and actually showing their mall time would be fun.

Still haven't had a chance to see it yet. Hope it's at least worth to watch. I really liked First Class and DOFP. At least with hearing all the reviews for Apocalypse i'll be able to watch it with lower expections.

Yeah, by no means is it as good as First Class and DOFP but it's definitely better than X3 and I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy about it.
